Execution Month aka the Real MOVING month has arrived! All our preparations since December finally comes to a “fruitful” end. We owed it so much to all our helpers, especially our unsung heroes:
- Robinhood ~ for being with us from the very beginning, super chill even with his twisted ankle
- Weiland ~ the brain behind Küche abbauen
- Po Kei ~ for giving your all until you slide down on your ass
I talked with Robinhood about this whole moving, how did they do it since Robin & Vanessa moved into their own home last year. I didn’t ask for his help because I know Dom has A LOT OF MÖEBEL. He immediately said „wir können das machen, das ist kein Problem. Am Bestens gehen wir zusammen zu ihm und gucken, welche Möbel können wir selbsttragen und welche nicht“ I was soooooo relieved as I heard it, it would be a big money save for us!
Downsizing to Kitchen and Kleiderschrank with Umzugsfirma, the rest with Robins. One things after the other, Dom’s side is more or less geklärt, mine… not really. My kitchen need to be gone, we do not have the slightest knowledge on how to remove it, I have one person in mind: Weiland ~ our Quality Manager #In him we trust.
08.04. Robinhood + Weiland + Dom tore down my kitchen.
Fazit: my kitchen ist Uhralt ~ Robin didn’t even want to drink from it haha the smell, the dust, the dirt was on another level. It took them around max 1,5 hours. WOW! See how talented my friends are, it’s really fast hey! #Impressive.
Somewhat fortunate the Ebay people didn’t come to abbauen otherwise they have rights to be angry on having to pay for some Schrott. I must call Spermüll and pay 10€ for each Electronic stuff just to get rid of it, well 70€ for Dortmund City then.
Just like Matthias said the next day on the office “Marlyn, deine Küche ist finished” 😉
11.04. Us moving.
Team Eving: Robin’s Papa as our driver with big Anhänger they rented from Hagen + Robinhood + Weiland + Po Kei and his son Till + Dom’s neighbour Taifun + Dom and I.
Robin rang our bell, unfortunately he was umgeknickt, von Anfang an! When he tied the Anhänger on his father’s car. He barely can walk! My plan was to keep him above for abbauen the bed, he was very professional zack zack. Yet Robin is Robin, can’t stay still, he kept moving heavy stuff down while limping.
Matthias grabbed Lattenrost alone while me and Dom need to do it together. He carried Dom’s washing machine together with Po Kei, Till had the Sofa. All in all it took maksimal 2 hours in Eving.
Moving on to Innenstadt, we have another helper from Dom’s colleague: Raik. This is where the challenges are, I stayed at 3rd floor which feels like 4th floor. Not only they need to take Dom’s stuff up, they too need to bring my Kitchen down, yes people: Fridge + Oven + Spüllmaschine + Schranks. Boah! All guys have been working for 2 hours, they don’t have Kraft mehr. Matthias Achiless “broke down” he’s out, leaving Robinhood had to brought down fridge by himself, Robin + Po Kei took the heaviest Schrank of all. Last straw, Po Kei’s knee go against him, he pushed down all stuff with his ass step by step on the stairs!
I was very very amazed by the amazing powers my friends possessed! They were all so unbelievable! Thank you is not enough word for them, we couldn’t have done it without them, I meant both financially as well as physically, it’s simply impossible. Believe me, I do felt guilty for all their Verletzungen.
Next working day, we explained what had happened during the moving. Finny supposed to help too but the timing wasn’t fit well, he saved himself 😉 “Boah Umzug mit dreißigjähriges” Our hips really don’t lie.

18.04. Axin-Umzüge.
I’m very happy with Axin Umzüge & Transporte. I’m just realistic, they offer the cheapest price among all 950€ include kitchen + kleiderschrank abbauen und aufbauen. Yes in the end, some small stuff did went wrong: they got the water switch between cold & hot but honestly after almost 10 hours, we don’t care anymore. They drove from Eving to Innenstadt, then went to Bauhaus to take the Arbeitsplatte. One guy is All Purpose ~ he was the driver, Umzugshelfer, Schreiner 😀

I reminded Dom about the facts that we need to prepare a budget for moving; if someday we have to move out from this apartment, ain’t no way I’m gonna ask my friends again: Exhibit A. They have done more than enough for us. Big main point B. We all will be older, it won’t be only our hips rather everything don’t lie haha
Dom brought a couple Donkis dolls from Japan to be put on display when we move in together.
