Masterchef In Progress October

Tadammmmm the learning how to cook with Mom- premier episode has begun 😀 haha it’s because at some point I need to make Indonesian dishes and I promise Thorben that I will do it, besides he has such a fancy kitchen so it will be “cooking with STYLE” 😉 Me and Aggy already planned the menu but just like in every side of our life, the theory and practice are so different haha! I’m glad that I didn’t reveal the menu to Thorben yet because we, well not we but more like I did the major “detour” 😉

When my father knew that I will learn cooking with my mom he was so happy and he “expected” me to learn 20 different dishes haha oh father pleaseeee! he even asked me to open youtube to watch the cooking video tsk tsk tsk.

But, I will make my mom signature dish, this dish is the one that we always eat from kid and we really like it so my mom has already 20+ something experience on this dish 😉 haha and I learnt how to make it twice! so hope it will be enough to do the real cooking practice at Thorben’s. And I only learn to make 2 side dish once so let’s see how it goes haha!

This dish is called “Bistik” I guess its the Indonesian pronunciation from “Beef Steak” haha but it will be very different from Thorben’s steak so relax everyone it’s still somehow steak with Indonesian touch haha

All we need are:

  • The very tender part of the beef like maybe half kilos or whatever depends on how many people will eat that. In Indonesian it will be called “has dalam” part and Idk what is that in English but I can ask Thorben as he is the experience beef master 🙂
  • Half tomatoes.
  • 4 red onions, 2 white onions.
  • cinnamon.
  • 10 pieces of cloves.
  • half teaspoon of nutmeg powder.
  • one spoon of white milk powder.
  • carrots, bean and potatoes.
  • butter.

Cut the beef into thin slice, this will be Thorben’s as I’m afraid I will cut my fingertips haha because I remembered he said the knife is very very sharp so nope! I ain’t gonna risk moi finger hahaThe most important things to do to make the beef tender is we need to prick the beef, and we will use our sweet ketchup a lot slurp slurp!

 

And for the fried noodle:

  • Main and foremost the noodle itself ahaha.
  • Sides could be anything from meatballs, eggs, carrots and some vegetables.

And for perkedel:

  • Potatoes as many as you like.
  • 3 red and white onions.
  • cornet beef.
  • pepper.
  • egg.
  • chicken broth.

My mom said that we need to make the potatoes as smooth as we can, but then I remembered Thorben made a very very smooth mashed potatoes so don’t worry about that part, he knows what he needs to do 😉

We will make the coconut rice but sorry Thorben I need to use the instant ingredients, it won’t be that much different anyway and since you don’t really eat rice so it won’t affect your diet 😉 haha

Voila! Not so bad, I think I’m a very easy to get satisfied kind of person haha 🙂 But again, all of these happened under the supervision of my mom haha hopefully I can remember and do it all over again with Thorben and Aggy’s help 🙂 not sure if the taste will be the same but at least it will be a fun day XD

My father told me about his easy to make dishes haha he said he was on a boy scout so everything he cooks should be fit for only one pan 🙂 because it’s a survival type of food. But the way he explained how to make it was so funny he kept saying “yes, you can put a little bit of that and a little bit of this” like the non so serious type but yeah I will mark it down and I will make it but maybe only for myself not to have it with Thorben and Aggy haha :p

Let’s see how the real cooking will be 😉 prepare the drum rolls! dududududummmmmm 😀
