Daddy-Daughter’s Moment Gone Wrong

We arrived at Labuan Bajo! On a sunny 29th Sept 2019, checked in to a cute hotel called La Cecile, the hotel was only 5 mins away from the airport.

The hotel rooms are downstairs so our room were 205 and 206 and it means 2 floor below the ground and obviously no elevator.

We were just chilled by the pool and I decided to jump on the pool, Marina was reading her kindle and soon after Thorben joined on the pool. He was doing the dive and I dont know how to do that, I know how to swim but not doing that or salto in the water so he was teaching me how to do that.

I got up and do the dive many times but somehow the way I dive still wrong and the water either hitting my face, my chest or my belly and those hurts besides I dont have energy to keep climbing and do the dive again.

This is after some times trying to dive in…and still cannot do that…

For some reason we decided to take a baby steps learn by doing the dive in the shallow end #yeap the gone wrong moments started!

We practiced by keep my leg straight while I did the dive, the first and second dive I think it was better than before, Thorben hold my legs and I just dived in…but on the third try, I think this is the moment where I suddenly able to do that still with the help of Thorben but sth special happened this time and that’s…. I hit the ground! #panic!

I could feel that my head near my left eye hurts but wasnt exactly sure where… I turn around and said “Thorben I think I hit the ground” he looked at me and agreed “yes you did” he pulled me directly from the pool and we got out.

Marina was taking all of our stuff from the pool and cover us with the hotel’s towel, I was of course bleeding but Thorben said its not that much but stitches needed. The hotel staff was so nervous and they said we can call the doctor to come here but Thorben said “no, we need to go to the hospital, she need stitches”

I was either cool or scared because every time I heard stitches its bring back the memory of me hit the wall when I was 4yo and the blood was crazy so I kept asking him if theres a lot of blood or not. I dont know if its a concussion or panic or anything else apart from my childhood memories I was worried if I will have a brain damage, if I will lose my memories, if I will have a scar, if my forehead skin will got distorted etc but Thorben answered no to all of them and he recommended stitches so that I wont have scar. Hopefully there will be no scar!

Marina said it was really above my eyebrow so even if I have the scar it would be barely visible and then I was worried if my left and right eyebrows will be different but she said no my eyebrows will still be the same. The next day we will see Komodo and if I’m bleeding the Komodo will eat me so Marina said the stitches will close my wound and I’m not bleeding anymore so the Komodo won’t eat me. Okay then, more reason of why I should go on stitches.

The hotel driver directly took us to Siloam hospital, all 3 of us were on swim suits only Marina is dry, I forgot when Thorben wear his shirt because he kept covering my eyes and I can only see with my right eyes so I dont really have a clear view what I know is we arrived at Siloam hospital and I asked Marina to put pants and flip flops on me so I can arrive hospital with dignity.

It was Sunday afternoon, we were not even 4hours arrived Labuan Bajo and this small accident happened #facepalm!
Lucky me that the doctor was there and I directly went to emergency room and Dr. Koko stitched me 🙂

Thorben checked in to the hospital as my father, he said that “we need to let the doctor know that her heart rate is very normal” I asked Marina how much is it? And she said “yeah 130 pretty normal for you” When the doctor was doing their preparation he asked Thorben to leave the room. I was with Marina when Dr. Koko gave me the anesthesia and when he stitched me.

I was still on my bikini and hotel’s towel, by the time I was done with the stitches, Marina helped me to wear my clothes and she said “it’s good that my shirt is a button-up shirt” as if that I prepared for the “surgery” 😉

What worst is at the beginning I don’t want to tell my parents but I swiped my credit card which will send SMS to my mom, they said at the end of the day I need to let them know so Thorben asked me to smile on the selfie and send it to my mom.

He said “ok, now smile”

Then we were back to the hotel with my big bandage and I feel like a celebrity where everyone starred at me 🙂 Im fine, I survived! I took shower and Marina stayed in my room just in case sth happen and we figured it out of how can I take picture without being so obvious about my bandage? and we found it out, the photo has to be silhouette, from behind and from some specific angle and she instructed Thorben of how to do that haha, of course my big hat be a very important property 😉

I went to hospital again to check before we flew to Bajawa and the wound was not closed but there is no blood.

Hopefully I can take the stitches out before I fly back to Shanghai! Lesson learned! and now I am banned from the swimming pool #phew!

Byeeeeee pool!

One Big Warum?

Thorben and Marina arrived Jakarta! Yeay! They had 2 days to do culinary here. I asked my parents on where to take them and what to eat and they said “easy, we got all the places, we will only bring them to the place that we like, even maybe its not famous but at least its good” so I was relax as everything will be taken care off.

They arrived 26th like late in the evening almost midnight, me and my parents picked them up and I’d to spent my birthday on the parking lot haha! But at least I got all parents complete on my bday, my biological and non biological 😉

The first day of culinary was only with my mom, we went to the traditional market, the place that my mom goes everyday to buy veggies, fruits and everything. We ate local food there, nasi uduk, lontong sayur and some drinks. They never or dont see white foreigner that much so every times they saw Thorben and Marina they said “hello mister” or “hello bule” haha people! Pleaseeee We also bought fruits like salak, passion fruits, the other type of passion fruits and mangoes.

For light lunch we want to eat otak2 and pempek (made out of fish) but we didnt walk there we took a bajaj to drive us. The bajaj driver was so happy because he got 2 bules on his ride 🙂

The original place of otak2 and pempek for some reason closed but the neighborhood told us that there is another similar shop around so we gave it a try.

Thorben tried nasi goreng pete on this shop, I dont like pete but for them its OK. Then we go home for a while because we cannot contain anymore foods, me and Marina figure out the additional luggage, east cruise komodo and who will pick us up from the airport.

Then it was somewhat afternoon and we ate more food, this one is meatball soups 🙂

We went to harvest to take my cake, we didnt have dessert here hahaha the dessert postponed for another few hours 🙂 And then my father arrived home after work and we go to Jetski cafe to have dinner with my other friends 🙂

The next day, the eating and sightseeing continues, this time my father also joined. We started to have noodles as breakfast at Mie Alip.

The same thing happened, they looked at Thorben and Marina haha like they are the only bules that came there. After we killed the noodles, my mom brought some breads for us to eat otw and Marina asked “warum??” And Ive told her to eat it later not necessarily now and she asked “when? When do we eat it? Later? When we have more foods” hahaha

This noodles enough to fill us up until kind of late afternoon. We went to “old city hall” to visit “Museum Bank Indonesia” and then went to train station. But otw to train station there was a bunch of teenagers that learn english and want to have interview with our bules and record it as their homework haha

They just asked simple question like your name, country where you come from, what is your fav food? And Thorben replied with “brain brain” which means otak2 which is definitely not the english word for it but Idk what to call it hahaha

Our two bules

Then we had lunch at Padang restaurant called Garuda. Thorben and Marina thought all of the drinks that they had is too sweet while I dont think so but I always order no sugar for them while for me? Yais please sugar bomb! Haha

We had another sugar bomb desert called Martabak, they were amazed with the amount of butter, condensed milk, chocolate and peanuts that they used to make it hahaha! And they surprised that we dont have diabetes hihihi but they like this sugar bomb desert 😉

We didnt have dinner after this, we just stayed at home but my mom cut all the mangoes and give it to them and Marina kept saying “warum??” my father said that “maybe you need to walk around and eat again” But the mango is so good so we all eat it anyway haha

When the nights come, I took shower, when I finished it my mom’s gone, I asked my father where is she and he said that she went to fruit shop thats only in front of our apartment. I was like “really? I dont think Thorben and Marina can eat anymore!” I went to tell Thorben what did my mom doing and he said “is she cutting more fruits for us?” I replied “no, she went out to buy more fruits” and Marina was “warum??” Suddenly, my mom with her barely spoken english arrived and saying “Marina, come come” #facepalm! They tried another fruit called dukuh this time haha but I’ve told them that they dont need to finished the whole dukuh.

The next morning, we all went to Labuan Bajo, its good that my father didnt dropped us to the terminal because our terminal changed! From the internet it was terminal no 1c and the reality was they closed down terminal 1c and moved Citilink airplane to terminal 2e but yeah! We made it! And here our holiday starts! And… we have another stories for that 😉

Off to Labuan Bajo! Yes Thorben I seriously took pic 🙂

I hope you have a good time in my home as I always have a good time in yours XOXO

Addition or Subtraction

Last country on our trip! France and where it will be? To the city of light and love, Paris <3 We finally stayed in a hotel with elevator! Our hotel is near Champs Elysees, the weather wasn’t so nice when we were there, rainy, cloudy but it still didn’t reduce the fact that Paris is a beautiful city- the scenery, the arc, the bridge etc. We got some hours with sun but this sun followed by a crazy wind hahaha

I was so lucky that I can meet up with my 2 friends, Vinh and Lansana. I met Vinh first and he became our “tour guide” he showed us the tunnel where Lady Diana involved into an accident and when we heard it we were “oh! we didn’t notice it’s here” and he said “it’s just a tunnel ya” hahaha but it’s historic tunnel-worldwide famous so we went there then we went to his fav bridge in Paris which is Pont Alexandre III and Arc de Triomphe.

The next day we got additional person who is not strange to us, he is my sister’s boyfriend 😉

we went to the famous Louvre, Opera building, Gallery Lafayette but at some point we need to stop because it started to rain heavily.

Then for dinner we went to Asian restaurant which called Kok Ping sth like that also near Champs Elysees and the food there was sooo good! We first ordered in a small portion but we kept adding it. After dinner I met with Lansana, my sister went with her bf to the top of Arc de Triomphe, my parents went to bed.

The next day, we went with hop on hop off bus and we visited Marina’s fav place in Paris which is Sacre Coeur and it’s indeed way way way more beautiful than Eiffel Tower- I guess hahaha but since its hop on hop off, of course we stopped in Eiffel Tower.

We wanted to go to the Dom in Sacre Coeur but after more than 1 hour waiting on the line, another rain came by and we still waited on the line but the line didn’t even move so we gave up.

Then, the wonders of the world- Eiffel Tower! My father said “Oh, I can’t believe I’m on the feet of Eiffel Tower” and I said “Let me take picture of you” but the Eiffel Tower is so big and so hard to take a proper picture and I need to make sure that I lied down completely to the ground mwahaha 😀

Last day in Paris we went to Petit Palais, Place de la Bastille, Notredame, Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, Les Invalides wogh! tiring day! We also went to the cookies place that my father want to buy. So basically, the purpose of this last day is to buy the cookies but we don’t want to carry the cookies with us the whole day so we put it on the last things to do. I checked from the internet and as far as I know the place close at 7:30 PM so when I checked it again on 6:30 PM it’s written closing soon which make sense in 60 minutes they will close and we arrived there like either 10 or 8 minutes to 7 and we chose the cookies slowly and the girl said “I need to close the shop, we closing at 7” and we asked her for 5 more mins and she locked us in so that no other guest can come. What a day! Thanks God we made it otherwise my father would be so upset hahaha

The trip ended with me going back to Shanghai, my sister and Dom continued to Barcelona and Germany and my parents went back to Jakarta. Thanks for the light and love, Paris! wait… love?

This trip also ended up with addition of a not so new person, what does it means? Hint: Look at the blink 😉

Yes peps! my sister got engaged! The ring was too big for her so she put it on her middle finger first hahaha there will be subtraction from the Praseli but addition to the Berger 😉 She told us after she came back from Arc de Triomphe so actually Lansana played an important role, otherwise I would be with them and if Dom asked me to not join then I already know what will happen! My reaction was pretty random I jumped to her when I saw the ring and yes she hasn’t told me at that time, I think she’s about to but my eyes works faster than her word 😉 so I realized it was for the best that I’m not with them in the Arc otherwise it could be another different story ahahaha They told my parents the next day during breakfast. My mom cried, my father thought that he will be there during the proposal hahaha owh daddy!

I’m so happy for both of you, I mean we all are! Looking forward for the wedding but before that you need to solve the many wedding issues 😉 haha

#Keep Calm There’s One Praseli Left 😉

Good Things Come In Small Packages

This summer I got a chance to visit the same countries that I visited 10 years ago but of course with additional time and places. Now it’s time for Belgium. For Belgium we went to Antwerpen-Brussels and Brugge. I only visited Brussels before and according to my memory Brussels was nice back then but now it wasn’t impressive at all, not that I disappointed it just showed me what 10 years could do to a city 😉

For Antwerpen, the train station was IMPRESSIVE ! It’s an old station but so so stunning in a way that only the building itself is able to mesmerized me. We stayed in a boutique hotel called Hotel Diamond and Pearls, it was about 30-40 mins by Taxi from the station, no elevator people! because it was such a heritage building and when they built it, the elevator doesn’t even exist-at least that’s what the GM told me.

Jason is super funny! He’s so cute and helpful, he recommended the place to eat and place to visit with a very clear explanation, he said “everything is so close, to go to Friday market its only take 2 minutes” btw it’s only the name Friday market but they have it every day 😉 and I said “Yeah, 2 minutes according to your pace but my pace could be slower” and he followed “no, it’s only right-left-right and you’re there” and it was literally just there, we came back to Jason to asked if we were on the right Friday market place and he said “yeah you found it, just like I said”

Then there is a place called Big market which is bigger than the Friday market but still close by, there’s also another place that looked like either a fort or Hogwarts school called Steelplein but unfortunately it’s under construction so we cannot go there 🙁

We also visited many churches, at least there are 2 churches in this area. I saw the coolest church every which they have a “fitness” corner haha!

Besides the kind of city center area, there is also a Tunnel for Antwerpen people or so to cross the river to the other side, it’s called Sint Anne tunnel where we went at least 30 meter below and what is so special about this? It’s the escalator! Jason called it a moving stairs hahaha 😉 that made out of wood and he said it’s pretty cool place to visit just to see the escalator and we trusted him so we went just to hop on on this very special wooden escalator, we didn’t even bother to cross the tunnel as Jason said it will take 20-30 mins to go to the other side.

Finished with Antwerpen, we went on to Brussels and to my surprise Brussels are dirty 🙁 but yeah here we are, let’s made the best out of it, waffles! churros! and the peeing boy-manneken pis. As far as I know there is only a boy but there’s also a girl and a dog! We went to the girl but it’s rather creepy and better not see it and the dog, meh! we didn’t even bother to search it.

Here is the famous manneken pis!

Ooops! he’s a boy so he’s not big and tall hahaha and def he’s not peeing while holding a waffle or peeing to the waffle hey kid! behave! here is the real one 😉

So…to whom who think the famous peeing statue is big… no oh! wrong! hahaha it’s really small. At least, the town hall is good!

Another famous attraction in Brussels is the Atomium, still have no idea why this could be it hahahaha there’s Mini Europe there so it’s the miniature of the whole building in Europe. Imo, it’s not necessary, even if you have time, you won’t miss anything if you missed it. If I may, better go to Brugge or even stay there for 3 days and visited Brussels for one day that would be the smart plan! Brugge is like 40-50mins away by train from Brussels but once you step in there…it’s a fairy tale land! I love it instantly, my sister booked a walking tour for 2.5 hours from Legend walking tour, our tour guide a 68 years old named Louis is a very nice guy and he also recommend a very nice restaurant, even until my Europe trip finished, no restaurant can beat the food we had in Brugge! He said he also do night tour where they go to a spooky, urban legend kind of place with torches and stuff and that’s sounds so appealing!

He said there are only 2 homeless guy in Brugge and they were put on a nice old house which many stuff enough for their daily needs and when I heard it it’s so nice that Brugge does it to their people. As someone who loves and believe in fairy tale haha #shy, and fast forward few years after that I could see these building that I only imagine exist in the fairy tale land in real life, I was amazed by it.

He also said that only in Brugge they have a pipe line for beer! So that the truck doesn’t need to do the unloading and pass through the city center as it would damage the streets.

Owh how I can’t get enough of Brugge #eyes drooling 🙂 we also went to churches and the town hall.

Cheers to the very satisfying dinner we had in Brugge 🙂

I think the saying of “Good Things Come In Small Package” does exist as Brugge and Antwerpen is smaller compare to Brussels but they do have better things here! At first I thought the saying was “Big Things Come In Small Package” but someone told me that it’s not true because if it’s big things then how can it fits in the small package? hahaha so we searched it on the internet and turns out indeed he was right, not big things but good things 😉

After that we went back to Brussels as we will leave the next day to the city of light and love, Paris! …stay tuned 😉

This Is The Greatest Show!

Meeru Resort Welcomes You!

This resort located 45 km, approximate about 1 hour away from Velana Airport is really the best! It has the best services, food and staff!

Thanks to my sister that booked the Jacuzzi water villa room so that we can enjoy the beach directly under our room! the feeling where you just jump to the beach right after you wake up was amazing!

While we were staying there, my sister booked the resort together with buffet, so for breakfast, lunch and dinner it’s already included and the good system from Meeru is they put us on the same table everytime so we don’t need to be afraid that we came late to the dining hall and we don’t have any table to eat or so on and they also have the same staff that responsible for each section of the dinning hall, the dining hall is really big btw which means they also serve many foods! many good foods! 😉

On dinner time, they put LED lamp on every table with the same color which is yellow, but because it was dinner time so it’s a bit dark and I got lost so the person in charge of our table-Nasfah asked “what is my fav color?” and he changed the LED light to green so that I won’t get lost again haha

This resort always have somethings to do, some events to see, etc etc they never running out of idea of how to satisfy the customers! awesome 😉 Me and my sister did the free trial breathing exercise for diving, they did it on the swimming pool with the diving gear and when I carry the oxygen tank I swear it was so heavy and I almost fall down carrying it, it was more like the oxygen pulled me away hahaha.

We did the exercise on this very cool swimming pool

Then, we went to do snorkeling coral reef, they took us on the speed boat maybe about 15 mins away from the resort and we snorkeled on the ocean, we saw a lot of fish! many finding dori around, seems she didn’t get lost this time hahaha but we couldn’t stand on the reef because it is sooo deep.

We also did sunset on yacht and they provide some snacks on the yacht! perfect!

This time we went further away probably 1 hour from the resort, I saw the gradation of blue colors from light blue to darker blue to navy blue! To all the garment boss out there please visit Indian ocean first so that you can adjust your navy blue color of clothes hahaha 😉 because the real navy blue is really beautiful! hahaha during this sunset hunting, we met some dolphins! the dolphins jumped in group, did salto and the staff on the yacht said that dolphins like the noise so me and my sister, also my mom and dad was screaming when we saw one dolphin and we made some noise! hahaha and the dolphins jumped again 😉 I was like don’t worry Ibrahim (one of the staff’s name) screaming is my area of expertise 😉

They also have the buggy or golf car every time. So from our room to dining hall even though it is close but due to some reasons (read: excuses) for example the weather is too hot or I just want to feel like I’m a king 😉 hahaha I always call the buggy pfff….not me calling the buggy but I always asked the staff to call the buggy hahaha

At Meeru we can also go anywhere barefoot haha this is the best! just like at home 😉 because the floor is decorated with sand, it literally everywhere including the dining hall, the staff also barefoot…well, except the buggy’s driver.

It was really a relaxing and refreshing time in Maldives, this place is really 10/10! Btw just FYI, the raining season starts from Feb-July so better not to go on that months and maybe…..just go directly to the resort, unless if you want to see the city 😉 hahaha

As 2018 is about to finish within 24hr, I hope you all doing good, people 😉

Get busy living!

The Falsifying Advertisement

First of all, alert! alert! there is no wifi at Maldives airport everyone! WHATTT!! *shocked! They have free wifi but you need to register with your local number which is of course we don’t buy it so I can’t tell my sister where I will wait for them, the airport is small btw so you can’t be lost unless! you were not waiting on the arrival hall nor on the place where you said you would be 😉 HA! I said to my sister that I will wait them at Starbucks or some cafe shop to have the wifi and so on bbuuuuutttt I was on the lounge 😉 so there was a bit of hide and seek part between me and my sister but she was the one that seek me more and me, I’m just hiding under the cold AC with cookies, fruits and wifi from the lounge 😉 haha but long story short, we were able to found each other 😉

And we met the driver that took us to our hotel called h78, the hotel was nice, right in front of the beach. Btw this is not the resort yet, we went to the city called Hulhumale. The receptionist of this hotel is a woman from Nepal. My sister knew that this hotel provide the city tour and we wanted to go there but when we arrived the city tour has finished and we were kind of sad but the woman told us that we can go by ourselves and she gave us the map of where to go and what can we see there. We became enthusiast when we heard her explaining the touristic places. There are parliament building, city garden restaurant, presidential jetty and park, sultan mosque, souvenir shop and fish market and she suggested us to take taxi to the park and then walk around and that’s exactly what we will do!

The taxi driver named Ahmad came and he became our “tour guide” by saying this building is Maldives bank, ministry of foreign affairs building, jetty blablabla. But during the way to our Presidential Park, he suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, take a bottle of water, get out of the taxi to the sidewalk, rinse his mouth and came back. We were confused if he is fasting or what but yeah nobody knows what is going on with him….. Anyway we arrived to the one that called “park”. I was like…this doesn’t seems like a presidential park and I said that we want to go to the presidential park and he said “oh this presidential park is behind the mosque” and he dropped us there. Before we got off he asked how long we will be here and I said maybe 3 hours and he said “No, it’s too long. Everything here is so small only 500m walking distance, 1 hour is enough” I was like hmmmmm this is such different energy from the receptionist and the driver.

And here is the Presidential Park, they have the what so called “Fountain Bridge” which is…. See it by yourselves people 😉 the fountain was just like this and this height, doesn’t go any higher and the lights are blue, green and red ahahaha

They have a unique swing and a man-made tree.

Then this is the Sultan Mosque, Jetty and another park which has many birds and the ministry of foreign affairs 😉

The souvenir shops was not appealing at all, because all the shops are darks so we didn’t go there. And the highlight was the so called artificial beach. Our receptionist said many people take pictures of this artificial beach and I was just curious how did they make the artificial beach in the middle of the city? And here it is people! Hahaha

See the sand, the salt water aka beach and then see those rocks act as a border between the artificial beach and the sea and the sea! haha

So…..the winner of this city tour explanations goes to the driver! Hahaha the way the driver explained everything to us was very simple and the way it is. But it is still good that we visited this city, because we got to know the places otherwise we will be curious about how the city will looks like and no wonder why the city tour already finished by the time we arrived there, I mean….there’s not much things to see anyway hahaha 😉

But we got to know that the people that we met in Hulhumale they all are very friendly and helpful and they can speak English! Wohooo so this makes our life easier haha and time goes really slow here #times goes by so slowly, times goes by so slowly lalalalalla by Madonna.

Next day we will go to the resort! To the real Maldives where you will see on google or any other search engine when you type Maldives. THIS BETTER BE GOOD! 😉

The “Nightmare” Before Christmas

HO HO HO this Santa Claus laugh almost changed to Hu Hu Hu or Hiks Hiks Hiks crying voice for me hahahaha I really need to have some drama juussttttt before Christmas to make this movie title more real in life haha 😉

It all started with the very not prepare trip from my side, me and my family will meet up in Maldives for Christmas and then we will move to Bangkok and Phuket until beginning of January. My part was buy ticket for myself, going to Maldives and return from Phuket, my sister bought the middle part which is Maldives to Bangkok and Bangkok to Phuket. She will take bus from Canberra to Sydney, and then flight from Sydney to Singapore and Singapore to Maldives. My parents will take flight from Jakarta to Singapore and Singapore to Maldives. I think both me and my sister are getting lazy to check each other so we just gooooooo and when I was otw to airport I texted her to send me the other flight ticket, but she only sends me flight ticket from Bangkok to Phuket and she send it twice so she thought she also already send me the Maldives to Bangkok one and then maybe she went to sleep right after due to she’s been travelling far enough hahaha.

And when I was waiting to check in I just suddenly think “hmmmm do I need visa to transit in Sri Lanka?” and I checked on the internet and for Indonesian they need to have the travel authorization….I’m not sure about transit though…. therefore I called AGGY! haha but she didn’t pick up the phone and the waiting line got shorter and shorter and I panicked haha she was on the Christmas Eve party so of course she won’t check her phone so I texted on the group “Aggy! Pick up the phone!” hahaha the panic side of me started to use every way to be able to reach her. But she was able to calm me down by saying as far as she knew, it was only Canada that needed visa even for transit, so fiuhhh okay. First drama finished 🙂

Second drama started when the check in counter guy didn’t let me check in because I don’t have the flight out of Maldives. And I can’t call my sister using WA so I called my mom using wechat but she didn’t pick up *nervous stage 1. Then I called Aggy again to ask if she can call my dad’s Indonesian number unfortunately her phone cannot do that but since she was on a party so I asked her “can you ask somebody from the party if anyone can do that?” and she just shout “does anyone of you can make international call?” and someone saidd yes! and that someone was Hutch! yeayyy! Then I got another report from Aggy “the number is not valid” whoaaaaa *nervous stage 2! I gave her my father’s other number and she tried again but still 0 answer.

Thorben asked me “what is going on?” sorry bro, your little sister is in the middle of something! hahaha. Then I asked Gordy to call my sister on WA but she still didn’t pick up and his phone will run out of battery soon so he cannot call my sister anymore! *nervous stage 3. In the meantime while me, Aggy and Gordy kept calling my family member, the other Indian passenger looked at me and asked am I OK and I said NO! how do I look like OK hahaha I asked him “can you do international phone call?” and he said yes! sooo….the last candidate that I called using an Indian guy’s phone was…..my sister’s boyfriend hahaha! It was maybe 2AM in Australia but yeah I’m in panic hahaha and obviously he didn’t pick up either *facepalm.

In the end it was 23:07 and there was a ticketing guy that said “maybe you can buy again the ticket” I was like duhhhh! why I didn’t think of that! hahaha so I said to the check in counter guy that I will buy a new ticket and come back to you, and he said “but you need to do it latest 11:20 otherwise you will be late” and I ran with this ticketing guy to the counter ticket and I said “please buy me the cheapest ticket as I won’t use it anyway” hahahaha and then voilaaaaa! the additional ticket was printed, and I ran through the immigration. The immigration was only 1 opened and there was 2 people infront of me I felt like rrrgghhhhh this is just like in the movie “in time” when you just keep running otherwise you’ll running out of time and then security check and gate! woghhhh I finished the security check just in time when they start boarding…fiuhhh such an exercise on Xmas Eve 😉

Time to report then to everyone hahaha I called Aggy again to say that I’m safe now and because she’s my big sister she’s also panic and she texted my father saying “Hi this is Marlyn’s friend. Please ask your first daughter to call your second daughter” hahaha thanks God she didn’t mention anything about the ticket to my father 😉 otherwise it will be a longggg lecture about how to do travel preparation blah blah blah hahaha #sorry dad! I learned from my lesson, next time I will print every flight ticket and hotel reservations! *determined emoji.

I said to Thorben that I just started a TV soap opera involving Aggy but of course he wouldn’t understand so I called him to explain haha what so not German I am. And then I texted Gordy to said that I finally boarding and I saw the Indian guy again and he was glad that I made it to the plane haha I also said thanks to him.

After that I still asked Aggy can you do me the travel authorization for Sri Lanka, I give you my passport info hahaha and she said “no it’s too late, you will arrive in the morning anyway” hahaha true though and she said “how could you…” with 3 dots haha 3 dots is the official way to say that she doesn’t have any more words to say to me anymore mwahaha sorry sister! I’m in panic 😉

On the bright side…..seems this “nightmare” only happened before Christmas because now is Christmas day wohoooo! and the flight went really well, the service from Srilankan Airlines was really good, they continuously gave me water while I watched the movie without even me asking for it, they have a very tasty small biscuits and the cutest animation of the flight 😉 and I sat on the aisle just in front of the bathroom so I don’t need to wait in the line for going to the loo…nice!!!

My university friends called me 麻烦玲 (my chinese name is 李房玲-Li Fang Ling) they said because I 经常给人家麻烦 (often bother other people) hahaha and it might be right at this point, but ONLY this point 😉

Then I arrived Sri Lanka, transit and fly to Maldives.  And while on transit, my sister replied to me saying “I’ve already sent you the ticket” and I said “both of them was from Bangkok to Phuket” and she said “F#!k me” hahaha but it’s OK now the situation is under coonnntrooollllll 😉 besides, if nothing happened the night before Xmas, I won’t have this story anyway 😉

Now, everything went well, I arrived first and in next 3 hrs my sister and parents arrive so I treat myself by relaxing on the lounge, taking shower, have some snacks and life is good again! hahaha not that it was bad before, not at all but at least I can chill now 😉

Marlyn already chill

Besides, there is no movie called Nightmare during or after Christmas right? hahaha

😉

The Diary of Marlyn Praseli

The Diary of Marlyn Praseli only for Marina Kern! Yes, you Kern! hahaha I wanted to write “Yes, we Kern!” just like the photo frame on your home but then between me and you, the Kern is only you haha so I changed the “we” to  “you” got it got it? 😉

This is the things that both of us like! FOOD! *droollingggggg 😀 But of course sometimes I eat with the customer and I cannot really take picture ya because I need to behave! hahahaha so far this is the max pictures that I can documented 😉

Starter!!! We need to have Schnitzel! However, the first meal I had in Germany wasn’t German food but Turkish food as lunch ahahaha 😉 so I haven’t officially arrived German unless I had the Schnitzel haha but the Turkish food was good also, so can’t complain 😉 In Oberammergau I had some meat with potato salad, it should be a typical German food which is good also! So I don’t mind to postponed the Schnitzel until dinner 😉

Next! We moved to Poland, the city called Ustron. The highlight of Ustron was when I braved myself to eat someting called Osobuco which means knee haha and I tried the knee of the deer, I didn’t expect it’s gonna be this big!

I sent the picture to Marina and her comment was “the potato looks good” ahahha don’t you see the deer knee hellooooo lady?! Aggy comment was “It looks good, just like what we had back home, oxtail soup” Well, ladies and gents this is the moment you’ve been waiting for (hahaha suddenly remember one the soundtrack of this is the greatest showman movie) the taste was rather unique I will put it this way, but if I got a chance to do it again, I probably would choose other food hahaha so hope you got the point 😉 wink wink, no offence to all the deer knee fans out there #if there is any hahaha!

Besides this deer knee, we also had dumplings the polish name will be Pierogi which is good! The decoration of the restaurant itself is really good, it’s like the Victorian style kind of haha it’s not special in polish food but more like a fusion. We also had some polish  special shot kind of which sorry but I prefer Jagermeister more 😉 hahaha

In the office, we have Lukas that made a corn flakes with chocolate wogghhh Amazing! I always eat this when I was a kid with sprinkles and stuff so this is goood! and Julia made a vegetable train toottt tooottt! I thought its called hummus but its not, she searched it on linguee the translation of how it’s called but yeah I don’t even remember it haha.

We also had doner kebab like 10 mins driving from office, the portion is big and it’s owned by a Turkish guy (supposedly) hahaha but somehow I found the entrance to the restaurant looks like a prison haha and this is where Lukas hurried me up so he appeared on my pictures HA!

I had the very typical kebab doner with beef 😉 the decoration of this restaurant is very unique even though it looks like a prison from the outside but the inside is they have many ornaments of BVD football club.

As Christmas is around the corner so some restaurant has their own Christmas dinner specialty and I ordered the goose leg 😉 haha it was soooo good! After the dinner, our colleague order a very cute desert 🙂 the hearts and hats of the snowman was the most delicious one (hmmm sounds like a psycho 😉 ) and they also had pocky! my childhood snacks hihihi

Then before we visited Dortmund Christmas Market, we had Italian dinner, with Italian food, it really hard to go wrong. In this restaurant they had a very fancy sparkling water bottle haha, Italian, always with style 😉

And then at Xmas Market, I had Gluehwein but Julia got a Cocoa with some alcohol inside, if I’m not mistaken it’s called lamomba or something like that and turns out it’s better! I didn’t know it, I only know if on Xmas then Gluehwein is a must, maybe because they don’t have Cocoa with alcohol here so that’s why I didn’t order, but next time I know what I should order haha

After 2 weeks of Western food, the Asian part of me came out haha, we had Japanese lunch at Dusseldorf where then I bought my Yves Rocher cosmetics stocks for a year hahaha. The restaurant called Yasabe, it was a small restaurant but always packed! or maybe because the size restaurant itself is small? haha but anyway the food was yummy slurp slurp!

What is more surprising is that in Dusseldorf I found many mobikes around! but the style are different than what we have here in Shanghai, and I just wonder if I can open the mobike and turns out yes I can open it! But then I forgot the size of European and Asian are very much different, I already adjusted the seat to the very low but I cannot touch the ground, my foot was maybe 15 cm above the ground and it simply hard for me just to get on the bike itself 🙁 pfff I need to locked it again and it charged me 7.8 RMB I forgot that Euro is so expensive hahaha!

Before saying goodbye to Germany, I need to have another proper German food and the last meal that I had was a very nice beef! I google translate the main menu and it was beef something but it came with salad and so on and the salad came first and I was like “where’s the beef” hahaha I didn’t pay attention to the sides other than beef but then the beef came with potatoes, I just need to relax 😉

So Marina…. here it is! the food documents that are able to be documented, of course there were many snacks, beers and other food that I didn’t take picture of, I don’t want to surprise you with what kind of food and beverages I had in Germany hahaha.. but I’ll give you some sneak peek 😉 continue scrolling!

Then…. time to say…. Hello to Shang Hai!

P.S: I haven’t had cheese cake so far 😉

Cathay Pacific will take me back to Shanghai 🙂

Thank You Germany!..and Poland and Milano…well thanks EU!

In this December, I got a very nice opportunity to go to Germany again for 2 weeks. I mean, December, cold winter… what can I ask for more, it’s literally the best things for someone that came from tropical country to be able to experience winter in Europe, that’s just exemplary! *4 thumbs up!

Even though this 2 weeks was a business trip, but we managed to have some free and fun time 😉 like come on, it’s Germany yo! it’s not like I can go there every time I want, besides who can go to Europe as much as they like?! So, better seize the moment! 😉

We also visited customer in Milano and Ustron-Poland so wohooo I stepped my feet to 3 different countries within this 2 weeks that’s AWESOME! 😀

As always we will fly to Frankfurt but then we went to Oberammergau! I found this name is very funny haha and turns out they have the tounge twister for Oberammergau, Marina texted me in afternoon (SH time) which is morning (DE time) and when I heard of it I was like whattt?! that’s really scary tounge twister haha! it might be because she said it pretty fast but when Thorben write it down it wasn’t as scary as before. This show the comparison of real German and someone who tried to speak German hahaha!

And then meeeee!!!

It was mostly rainy Germany but then in Oberammergau the rain changed to SNOW!! This is the best feeling ever! Snowing in Europe! It’s just like seeing on the TV shows where the snow fall down from the sky and then I finally can feel it, super!

Then we drive down to Milano, 5 hours drive, we passed the Alps the view is breathtaking but the downside is the road really had many detour and I got really sick so I need to take a break first otherwise there would be another type of perfume on the car hahaha 😉

Next, we say hello to Katowice Airport-Poland! We visited one city called Ustron, the weather was sooooo wintery in terms of really cold but super cool! a quiet touristic place, the air is very clean and it’s just nice there!

Finally back again to where all the vibes begin, Germany! We watched double game! Football and Basketball. One win and one lost. Leverkusen won 1-0 against I don’t even know who hahaha and Telekom Bonn lost against again I don’t know haha. Thanks to Stefan for showing your fans club it was a really nice place with good food and good people even though I don’t speak German haha. I think this time was better than on March because Tom was there! 😀

Tom was very cute for the whole time, he was playing football game on phone while we were on Red Black Lion fans club and he kept shouting drei-null and then up to acht-null haha. On the stadium, he was also worried about the performance of Leverkusen, I secretly took picture of him 😉

At first I thought that he doesn’t want me to take selfie with him but after I found out that he was OK then all the selfies started hahaha but he always stick out his tounge hahaha funny Tom! As you can see maybe he got bored haha look at his face degradation 😉 Tom is such a sweet boy! <3 When Leverkusen finally scored a goal, I wanted to have high-5s with him but he was eating his pretzel and he put down his pretzel and then gave me high-5s, such a polite boy.

While on basketball match, the atmosphere is not as crazy as football but it’s still very vivid to watch! They had the cheerleader, singer, game for kids etc.

Besides the game, I somehow met “Chloe Moretz” made in Germany 😉 she looks really similar!

I also met another kid, Lisa! She is very calm and such a sweet bigger sister to her brother Bruno. We made some things, idk what it’s called… but we put it one by one, they have the moulding and I don’t speak German, she doesn’t speak English but we managed to communicate what color to put on and how many pieces haha we made 2 of it and in the end we were making a truck but her mom called her out to go to bed and she just said “Tschuess” and went up, very sweet! either she’s very obedience or she’s bored with me hahaha but I choose the obedience one 😉 While Bruno was going to bed with a bit upset hahaha! he also made something with this things according to his imagination haha Bruno is so small he’s only 2.5 yo, sooo cute!

Next will be another football match with Lukas! He supports Schalke team and this one is against Moscow, it was a last minute that I decided to go with Lukas and only 1 ticket left so I am very lucky to get it. Here we are!

Lukas has his seasonal ticket so he always get a seat at the same place, the stadium was in Veltins arena and the stadium was very mesmerizing, it is crazy big! There was 48,883 people on the stadium according to the number that showed on the cubes haha I became very German by remembering all the numbers. And here is why I took many pics Lukas! so don’t complaint 😉

For the whole 90 mins game there was nothing still 0:0 but then they had additional 2 mins and Schalke scores after 1 min! and it was such a nice goal and it happened really fast and for sure Lokomotive Moscow’s goal keeper tried his best to catch it but yeah they made it, congratz Lukas!! It was good that Lukas was freezing so we left the stadium after the game otherwise we would have stuck due to the fight that happened 5 mins after we left woghhh!

And because this is the season to be jolly it won’t be complete until we visit the Christmas market 😉 We went to Bonn and Dortmund, it was -1 degree but somehow I wasn’t freezing, cold yeah but it just felt so brilliant! The atmosphere, decoration, food and of course gluehwein 😉

This year can’t get any better 😉

Love Germany…well, EU! If you know what I mean 😉

Until next time 😉

No Electricity? NO MORE!

At first, the very first morning when we hop on to our bus, our tour guide said that there is a MUST VISIT shop that we have to go and there is a MUST ITEM that we need to buy blablabla I was already like “arrghh this could be something unnecessary” and we went to the bamboo, silver, coal kind of store. And of course the sales woman introduce to us the different kind of items, daily used item.

She said that there is two types of coal like the one that has a really high energy and low energy (like the BBQ coal kind of type) and she also tested it with a machine which I don’t really pay attention because why would I have a coal on my home to keep the energy?! I already have enough of energy within me so I don’t need any additional energy.

Besides the coal, they explained the magic bamboo stuff on the daily usage, such as bamboo water bottle that can change the PH of water into the healthier one, she demonstrated that our drinking water was not healthy (which I also don’t care because for almost 27 years of my life I’ve been drinking bad water and I’m still alive so yeah! booyah! I ain’t buying that)

And then the towel for hair that absorb water within seconds so my hair can dry easily which is interesting btw and I bought that! hahahaha. Moving on to the cream that could be use as a glass cleaner for car, bathroom anything anywhere that if you put it on the glass car and then you drive the car but it’s raining, the water will directly drop, of course there is a waiver function on cars but it’s different you don’t need to wipe it with the waiver it will just fall off directly. Next is the chop board that can hold a very heavy meat almost like 75kg (because this is the weight of the tour guide and he stand on the chopboard and it didn’t break) but who would put a 75kg meat on the chopboard?! Scarf with many tutorial on how to use it, which there’s also many people on youtube channel that does that hahaha but honestly the scarf is pretty unique and soft as it’s made out of bamboo so the material is really different.

But then, the most interesting item was!!!!! are you ready??? drumroll pleaseee! dum dum dum dum…. I called it:

EMERGENCY UNDERWEAR!

She said it has some silver and coal on the underwear, well I don’t really get it they said it’s good for the health, anyway I see it on the other way. Watch what is the 功能 of this emergency underwear and why I called it likewise.

And the most amazing is they also have SGS certificate! I mean as someone that doing sourcing the certificate from SGS is pretty hard to get and it’s the most reliable testing institution!

Pretty amazing yah?! So I think if we have this kind of underwear we don’t need to worry about suddenly electric shut off at our home because HAA! Just take this underwear and a rechargeable light bulb and VOILA! electricity 来了 🙂
