Which country I chose to turn 32? I dedicated it to my love for La Casa De Papel, nope, not Spain. Let me rewrite, it’s my love for one of the female character from La Casa De Papel, the one and only considered as “normal” citizen: Estocolmo! Embrace my new age with style in Sweden, oh yes people! I meant it, with STYLE, all caps! 😉
When did I decide to be in Estocolmo for my birthday? 9 months ago in January haha #early bird catches worms. I texted Erin if she already have holiday plan at the end of September. Since we both work in Europe, we know that all colleagues would already block their holiday beginning of the year for the whole year. Planning is essentials for the European, they ain’t gonna do spontaneous thing, planning – appointment – execution! #way of life.
While we were still on a planning stage, she recommended a fancy restaurant in Estocolmo, saw the menu, boy oh boy, temptation is hard eh?! we…or I… kept it to the side first. I also asked if she knows a hair saloon who know how to cut Asian hair. I know, weird right? why do I need to fly to Stockholm just for a hair cut? I have reason obviously! Stockholm is an international city for sure they have more multi-kulti peeps. FYI, Erin is not Asian #just in case if you’re wondering, according to her, her hairdresser seems to be raised Asian, it’s close enough, deal! #planning – appointment.
Erin took a day off on my birthday, we started with cracking the fortune cookies, see how it will tell us. Not bad hey, mine is “you will always have everything you need” + having Indomie to represents a long life + watched Barbie for the second time 🙂
Right after the movie finished, it’s more or less our time to go, me for my hair appointment, Erin for her gyms. We strolled around the city for a bit only to discover Stockholm Library is a very cool place, I’ll be back!
She drop me off to Serenity hair saloon to get my makeover with Daniel, he is Australian btw. To me, it’s just felt so so so good to explain what do I want to do with my hair. I kind of able to do it in German (it’s my point of view) whether they understand it, it’s another point of view haha
Hair is done #planning – appointment – execution. Erin is done too, perfect timing! went to had Fika, very typical Swedish, meaning Cinnamon snack in the middle of the day followed by going to Gamla Stan with my new hair, hello! feel so fresh, bouncy or fluffy you named it. Finally my upper body exist, before… I always felt it got blocked by my long hair #facepalm the ratio was imbalanced.
Remember the restaurant recommendation? Decided to take it! they have a rooftop place + birthday is once a year = execute! we arrived purposely earlier to catch the sunset, had a drink at the rooftop until it’s time to go downstairs for birthday dinner! #happy happy
They have Chef’s Choice Menu options with a rule it’s for the whole people on the table so it will have to be for two of us, we can’t share pffff hello what is sharing in this fancy place?!?! #bitch behave pleaseeee
I did my Asian calculations, it’s worth to choose the Chef’s options, bam! I can be poor for another 364 days a year but not on this one! “All in” supported by my Amigo Daniel. See the ratio of importance between my birthday to other 364 days in a year, I have enough time to be poor before my Schnapszahl 😉
All food were amazing! Erin also agreed that it was a good call to go with Chef’s Choice Menu. As our main course, we realized our pork belly is smaller than the guys next to us… nevertheless we didn’t complain, I could barely eat all of it anyway.
Right when we were wanted to be off chao chao, a sudden “hello how was the food?” rhetorical questions coming up from a waiter who looks slightly like Rami Malek #should’ve told him that. I was like where were you the whole time we have dinner? now asking how about the food? don’t you see where we were standing? right before the door…. Felt so awkward, Erin also felt the quirkiness let’s go go go. We concluded we could never date as we were not very chatty to begin with #who are you? what do you want from me? why do you ask this? 😀
The day is not over yet! we closed it by having a hot chocolate while watching series who kill Jill Dando? #crimi fans
Thank you Erin for having me in your apartment and taking day off to be with me the whole day.
