Deja Vu September

Back then in Shanghai when I was still in my late 20es #oh those time has gone eh, Thomas invited me and the Food Nerdies people to his birthday dinner “ofc I’ll join, how old will you be Thomas?” he said “I’m already on the age where I stopped counting” Fast forward few years later to this year, I feel you Thomas! Deja vu hast manifested haha there is no big congratulate “Welcome to the club” anymore because hell yeah I’m 30+ about how many + rather don’t count it, from first to many 😀

I am so grateful to have Andrea willing to cut short her Lisabon holiday, fly to Milan, celebrate my birthday there, just us, a girl trip. She doesn’t have any voice in this haha she said “it’s your birthday, let’s do it your way” oh boy I did do it my way! We had breakfast together near my AirBnb, in a small Cafe Mai Dire Bar al 32.

We booked the Duomo Rooftop Stairs pass + Archeological area + Museum + Terraze at 09:00 AM. There was a slight incident where Andrea couldn’t find her old email about the tickets which leads up to a possibility that I might have to go up there alone. Things turns a bit better when she found her credit card bill, went to the entrance checking, the guy said he needs the barcode so please go to the ticket office “if there is a line just skip it” ofc she is a German she didn’t skip the damn line, this issue need to be handled by Asian, “give me your phone” I went to the next cashier lady that was actually closed but yeah “I’m sorry, hello” politely if she annoyed I’m gonna play my get out of the jail card, it’s my birthday yo 😉

It works! she got her ticket printed yeay, we stepped inside the church, as you can already see from the outside it is very gigantic! Like every church I saw in Europe there are always under constructions, there is always something to maintain when you have such an enormous building.

We also visited the archeological site, the area is not really big but it enough to shows you some of the stones or baptism area or whatever they can show us of what was happening at those time.

We were looking for the stairs to come up, it should be from inside the church right? Nope it’s not we have to get out to go to the side. We took the stairs way to the top, mind you all the stuff within my birthday month is expensive due to Milan Fashion Week, so the stairs is 5 Euro cheaper than the elevator, took it! Haha Besides you only go up with elevator, go down still with stairs. The terraze amazed me more than the church itself.

Wait there is still more to it which is called the rooftop! where you can see Milan from the top plus soaking all the sun while you can!

Coincidently Andrea’s best friend Elke also in Milan only for few hours so they met first whilst I’m going to the Museum. When I entered the museum I’m not gonna lie, everything seems scary to me, there are so many statues and the lighting is a bit dark. But when I continue to walk its getting less scary. I asked the lady there, she said everything inside this museum is real except the Madonnina, where is the real Madonnina? it is on the top of the Duomo, shines her lights to take care of Milan. However not all statue inside the church are in the museum. Indeed the church still has some real statue 🙂 The point is if I see a statue that are on the outside of the church and inside the museum then the inside is the real one.

I have tried so so soooo many times to get the IT picture in front of Duomo, I think I get it 😀 don’t forget to mentioned the people who untiringly took my picture Andrea haha and my sister who edited it 🙂

Good that I’m such a streberin, I paid attention during yesterday’s walking tour so I know there is a Napoletana restaurant nearby, we 3 had lunch there. The waiter named Luis was so funny he said “ladies, do you want to order something else?” I said “I’m waiting for my birthday cake” oh! Okay let me get it ready, then the one piece of cake arrived, he said “do we need to sing?” yesssss! So he, Andrea and Elke sang it (again, previously without Luis) He did kind of an opera soprano vibration thingy, he can really sing heyyy!

We separated with Elke to do our Teatre alla Scala tour. They said once the curtain down they starting gambling, what a multifunction building. I really like to try to watch an opera, get a chair on the box, must be awesome.

We did a bit of a shopping, boah eh! We were soooo tired, I could feel my hips is trying to leave my body! Decided to went back to our accommodation, chill a bit before our dinner at Navigli.

Navigli area is very cool, I like it, my birthday fell on a Tuesday, theoretically it shouldn’t be so crowded, practically it is.

Before we ate, we passed another place where I saw a lady drinking something like lily white berry things, told Andrea I want that too. So we went to the lady berry place. The lady wasn’t there obviously just in case you wonder. Didn’t read any of it on the menu but I saw another lady had it, came there, asked what is that? Turns out its not lily white berry at all, it’s called Ugo Spritz, it was goodddd!

It was already after 00:00 but not 01:00 I guess, we won’t catch up the Metro so Andrea took a taxi, supposed to go to her hotel first she said to the driver “can you drive my friend to Pergolesi after the hotel” he drove me first, language barrier is real hahaha
