Like it or not, we all need a connection in life- in any form, named it mentally, spiritually, physically or a sort of connection that’s never existed before and I named it a modern connection! And what is that? It is our one and only “Internet Connection”!
I had a contract with 1&1 provider for both my phone and my wifi at home, apparently in order to have a technician to come to your home and install the cable from your room to a main source cable in the basement is not that fast, not even close to an adjective “fast”…in Germany… yeah tragic right? In Asian country it’s a matter of blinking an eye and poooffff it’s settled!
While waiting my technician to come which btw appointment is needed and the fastest they can come is within 2 weeks or so, I got the internet of 20GB in the form of USB stick. Under a normal circumstances it is actually enough however we currently are not in a normal circumstances so it wasn’t, not because I use it for Netflix too much of course 😉 it is because in my office we do 2 weeks home office and 2 weeks Dortmund office and for doing home office this 20GB is finished within 5 days then I have no more internet apart from my own 10GB mobile data so I have been back to Dortmund office ever since. Ah, I have technician appointment right? Forget about it, he never came, he kept postponing it because 1&1 cannot find where is the line to my room and they don’t want to send someone over because it cost money (even though I will have to pay for this service too) anyway they decided to keep prolong it while I haven’t been given any more internet in my USB stick and this is not a solution at all.
Julia got upset about this too because she is the one that take care of this issue and she decided to change the provider to German Telecom as they are the owner of almost all lines in whole Germany 🙂 and they act faster, the technician was sent within a week or so and he really came! the brighter future seems so close now! He came to my room put some cable into my wall and asked me where is something in the basement, I have no idea what he’s talking about so I just gave him my whole key and let him do whatever he sees right haha 😉 then within 10 minutes he came back and says something but I only able to catch “schlecht” which is “bad” I asked him to talk with Julia and while he was talking to her I heard “neuer Termin” which means “new appointment” rrrghhh! What is wrong with this appointment?!?!
This connection issue has already taken a toll of me and Julia’s energy and my colleague also “oh Marlyn, you’re here again, means you don’t have internet yet” in the end, my other colleague, Claudia, she has a connection with German Telecom and asked her contacts of how to solve it. Because of her, German Telecom will give me the USB stick with 30GB so Claudia and I went to a shop near my home to get it according to what her connection said. Surprise! They don’t have it, we have to go to German Telecom in the city center to get it, wogh okay we drove there then.
She showed the email and the Telecom lady looking for USB stick from their warehouse and I got the last one! Wohoooo, so far so good 🙂 , due to Claudia’s connection, I got it for free instead of paying 50 Euro but the system in Telecom doesn’t have options to get it for free so we were waiting for them to be able to adjust the system for…. 1 hour, omg no one expect it will take 1 hour to just do this…. And what happened after that? They still need to get the internet connection in my USB stick so we left to eat and come back again.
Then we were back to the shop and tadaaammm!!! It is ready! The whole process took a surprising 3.5 hours from office- Telecom shop- another Telecom shop in city center- back to office, but in the end, I got the temporary solution, we both quiet relief at least!
It’s like a pocket wifi, so cool!! We thought it will be a sim card with USB stick and we need to do some settings- which obviously nor me and Claudia will do it, it’s rather Daniel haha so we involved the whole team just so Marlyn can get an internet 😉
Ironically, on the same day in Jakarta, my father bought a BVB Jersey and guess who the main sponsor is? Haha! 😀
Most things in life works when you know someone who knows someone that knows someone, and when you have a connection, you got a connection 😉
Happy connecting!
