A Day as an Analyst Continued

***Triggers Warning: Disturbing Content, Includes Violence, not for fainted heart***

My legs has already given up at this point, on the other hand I’m running out of dates to do this dark mystery tour therefore I kept going! #Ain’t like tomorrow.

My tour guide was Angela, she was funny, she said we only enroll to this dark mystery due to we enjoyed family drama haha she was so right! She reminds us that the tour we are about to embark based on real story, what was really happening at that time & how they handle it, not about ghost.

First we were at Palazzo Grifoni named after a noble family Grifoni who married for love. Regrettably this blissful marriage only last for 3 days because he was sent to war. Every day his young wife waits for him to come back, she looks for any sign of him from her bedroom window. Hence the window is always open, day and night, winter or summer, all the time.

Unfortunately, he never came back, he died at war. She too, died in old age. After her death, their relatives moves in, they closed the window. This is when strange things starts happening ~ weather always bad, furniture moving by itself usw. It is believed the spirit of his wife is still there, still waiting for him to return, they decided to re-open the window and the strange things stops.

The windows remains open the same way including when it’s under constructions, no one close the window ever again. Now the palace is not functioning as a palace rather a private house by Budini family. Can you spot the open window?

Moving on to the Duomo area, precisely in the corner between the Bell Tower and Santa Reparata. Angela said underneath is used to be a cemetery for noble people #Didn’t surprise me at all.

Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet while Florence has a real life version named Ginevra degli Almieri and Antonio Rondinelli. Ginevra was a very beautiful girl in the final year of 1300. She was only 16 years old when she fell in love with Antonio. However, Antonio’s family is the enemy of Ginevra’s, without a doubt her father didn’t bless their relationship, her father arranged her to be wed one month later to Francesco Agolanti. Her father said “you will not get the permission, forget Antonio forever or we can kill him.” Thus, she obeyed.

After the marriage, she was always sad, became very sick, didn’t want to eat, cry, fell into deep depression. Four years later, she was found fainted to the ground in a very bad condition with blood etc. The doctor convinced she has caught plague, she needs to be burry immediately to prevent contagious. Her body was covered from head to toe so the people of Florence won’t see it, closed in marble coffin.

The midnight after her burial, it started a storm. What they didn’t realized is….they buried her alive! Sad to relate, at that time it was “common” that people were mistakenly dead. How do they know it? Once they want to moved the cemetery, the skeleton was found not in a normal position of how people died, some died while trying to get out from it. In this case, Ginevra managed to get out of the coffin, she broke her nails, in a dirty condition with Erde & blood.

She went back to her house where Francesco lived, he and her family were in grief.. Once he opened the door, seeing Ginevra, he thought it was a ghost of her. He told her to get away, “I’ve been praying for you, you are the ghost of my wife, please leave me alone, go back to your tomb” Her own husband rejected her, she went to her parents home only to get the same answer. Heartbroken, confused, where to go? she remembered way to Antonio’s home. He recognizes her, removed her veil, welcome her to his place. Being loved by Antonio, Ginevra’s health got better then finally the two decided to get married.

Of course news arrives to Francesco and parents of Ginevra. He seeks for revenge, went to the Bishop to send executors for Antonio. Thanks God the Bishop disagreed. He said “Ginevra comes to you but you rejected her thinking it was her ghost. Since then she is a free woman” Francesco is looking for a new woman, except no mother is willing to give their daughter to him knowing the treatment he has done to Ginevra when she came back alive. Therefore, no descendants coming from Francesco.

What is happening with Ginevra and Antonio? Is it happy ending? I wish. Something happened to Ginevra, as she tries to break out from the tomb, she saw corpses in a very bad conditions namely without head etc. She became to see it everywhere she goes, on the market, at home. In today’s language she is having a mental diseases caused her to lose her mind, she’s like a baby again, impossible to cure. Antonio couldn’t take it, he died perhaps due to big suffering in his heart. Both buried outside Florence, the cemetery for normal people.

The first time she was mistakenly buried was 1. May, it is being said every first day of each month there is her spirits walking until the end of the street then disappear. The name of the street was via la donna della morte. However in year 1800 the government change the street name to Bell Tower Street for Touristic purpose.

Next we stopped at Piazza della Signoria / Palazzo Vecchio where The Neptune fountain is located at. The statue with man on the horse is one of the Medicci family member. Back then, instead of fountain, this area was filled with torture machines to remove nails, organs, including genitals from both male and female.

If a woman (only woman) survives after the torture, she would considered as a witch, consequently, she will be burn alive. They could suspect anyone to be a witch for example if you have red hair, have job without husband, independent woman, yep you might be one of them.

There were 3 ways to kill someone: First, hiring executor who wears a black mask so people won’t recognize him, he always carries an axe which could never finish the job in one cut. Second, ties both hands and legs to 4 different horses who runs in different direction. Lastly, hang for 3 days from the first floor of the palace.

One day, all of these horrible things stopped, one day to the other. Why? Because the last two male of Medicis are homosexual, they didn’t have kids therefore no successor. The last female heir Anna Maria Luisa obliged to married old king from him she got syphilis’s that caused her not be able to born a child. Medici family has a pact with Austrian family, Duke of Lorraine. First thing he did once he was in Florence is cancelled the torture on the square. Not an Italian family solved this problem, obviously the Austrians do the wrong things too. Even so, do not forget they civilized the city of Florence.

After that we went to a normal street corner that has a very dark facts, even darker to know it was happening not so long ago, on 27.05.1993. It was all starts when two judges from Palermo fights with a Mafia who has been hiding from police, living in bunker for 30 years. When the big Mafia boss got caught, they bombed the judges. The group decided to put bombed in Milan, Roma, Uffizi quarter. About 200 kg of TNT was placed at this corner, one student (Dario Capolicchio) was crossing this street being burn alive + young family (Fabrizio Nencioni, Angela Fiume, 9 years old Nadia and 50 days old Caterina) found already carbonized. You can see the bricks are different because it was the hole from the bombed where they lived.

Whenever you see two people kissing each other, stretched their arms into an olive tree meaning mafia attack in those place. On the wall it was written poem from Nadia two days before the attack as if she got a feeling something bad gonna happens.

Still around that corner, hanged a sculpture made by Barney. The blade symbolize Mafia, 5 figures represents the victim. Those 5 victims are walking in blade but never falling down. It is a message of hope and love, to let people know they will forever remains in our lives.

Gladly the tour is coming to an end, I was sick to my stomach already. As if all of those facts weren’t enough. Angela closed our evening walk by telling us notorious serial killer started in Chianti Area in 1968. Two couples around the age of 18 decided to made love in the car, they chose the wrong night, wrong place, they were followed. Somebody has a long iron stick, broke the window and shot them. The killer took the genitals of the guy, cut the breast of the lady only to attach it to her genitals then leave it on the ground. The day after, police was called, they were terrified, it was the first time something like this happened in Florence. This was happening for 14 years… the serial killer repeated it to 8 couples a French + German couple tourist became victim too. The youngest female victim was 16 years old, the oldest was 30 years old. The killer decided to cut her breast while she’s still alive to sent it to the police. How sick of a mind can someone actually do that?

In 1945 police caught a farmer who has bad record such as raped his own daughters, after some years he was declared innocent due to alibi he has. He died hanged, it was still not clear if someone kills him or he commits suicide. Strangely, when he was in prison the killing stops in Chianti… only to happened in other city. Until today the killer is still a free man, no one knows, no one being caught. The big questions is if the killer move to other place of Italy?

There are 3 main hypothesis: first, it was a surgeon because the cut was so precise. Second perhaps it was somebody works for police as the gun was the same gun from police office which could be stolen. Third it could be a practice of satanism or illegal human trafficking organ. Angela said there is a movie made from it called The most Florence in Mostrow and Zodiac. Watch it if you want to not be able to sleep for some days. It is very disturbing hey.

This dark mysteries tour is really something different, it goes beyond family drama, regardless this is facts that was happening in this city. We can’t / shouldn’t / mustn’t erase nor forget it, all we can do is hope the killer will die slowly in hell and raise our awareness of danger / predator possibility.

Be safe everyone! If something feels off, it’s off. Hope we will never ever encounter something evil like that.

A Day as an Analyst

Sightseeing in Florence day 1 begin 🙂

When I told Julius about my Florence holiday, he directly said I must visit Uffizi Gallery and Michelangelo’s Museum. That Sunday before my trip I really sit down, arranged, booked everything.

FYI, Florence is small + Tracy lives in kind of city center, everything is walking distance within 25-35 minutes, besides the Bus App are really not user friendly, I gave up trying to understand it. First trip is from her home to Accademia Gallery where Michelangelo’s David statue placed, bought the first entry time slot between 08:15-08:30. I went out before sunrise, walked pass an expensive Salvatore Ferragamo boutique shop, Burberry with funny jacket on its mannequin, some Piazza until I reach the line queuing for my David’s.

Tracy said I wouldn’t spend more than an hour at David’s, the first floor are not very interesting because it has wayyyy too many Christianity paintings then David then room of Statues, last second floor. Just like she described, first floor is full of painting about Jesus, Maria and the Saints. Also on the second floor, I had to agree with her, at some point, you just have enough.

Wait until you arrive to the magnificent David, the one you have been waiting for, he looks very shiny from afar. The details, his eloquent pose, the size, it was really a WOW. He is the superstar in the whole Museum. Of course I asked people to take several pictures of me and David, from different angle, none of them are pleasing my eyes. Oh well, gotta live with it. These are the best I got 🙂

I started to go around him for complete look, Michelangelo is a genius! was in total AWE, how come someone sculpt someone he never sees… very handsomely? Look at his vein, abs, stature! #Melting. If only he’s a real person! #Drooling <3

I knew what room of sculpture she’s talking about, I was there. One of them reminds me of Mr. Whistler’s Mother from Mr. Bean movie haha I’m so sorry sculptor, didn’t mean to offend you.

Guess how many hours I spent there? Perhaps three! haha not because I was looking at all paintings but rather it was raining outside, at the end I was just skimming and sit for some hour before I continue my trip haha.

Walked pass Spedale degli Innocenti / Hospital of Innocents where I found this meaningful pink ribbon on the middle of the Piazza with QR code. Go visit nudmfirenze.noblogs.org it is a symbolic for women who have no more voice as they were assasinated.

We planned to have lunch together however Tracy was really swamped at work so I choose a random Pasta + Hugo place around the Duomo ~ heart of Florence. Tracy mentioned “you know we are not located near water right? so you might not get or have a good seafood pasta, order rather a meat one” Nope, you can’t stop me, Pasta with seafood it is hahaha, it’s still verrryyyy delicious!

Ready for my next analytic project: Uffizi Gallery. This is huge! as in H.U.G.E! It has many collections from Leonardo DaVinci, Raffaelo Michelangelo, Caravaggio. What amazed me the most are the ceilings! They are all decorated very beautifully.

I did recognize some of the names though, for example Julius Ceasar, Titus, Painting of Wedding in Cana, Adam and Eves, John the Baptist, Salomon. There is a red room where you can’t enter, you can only see from the sides.

I was very overwhelmed hence I decided to sit down every now and then. Tracy informed in the middle of it there is a Cafeteria, I can’t missed it. After almost 3 hours I reached it, let’s have a rest first, so much deserved 🙂 There I got the chance to know Juli from Brazil who located in Zürich, aha! since then we visited the rest half of the Gallery together 😉

She knows some art, she was very happy to see Carravagio Medusa! Look at the painting of the wine, you can see the bubbles, very real. I have to snapped a picture of the important family in Florence, the Medici!

Once we finished, we decided to have Florence “Döner” hahaha right after that we separated, I went to my Dark Mysteries of Walking Tour #First timers, very curious!

to be continued… my day hasn’t finished yet 😉

Facts: It was actually confusing to buy ticket for David and Uffizi from the official site, it always leads to B-Ticket website with 4 Euro fee. If you want to wait in line to see if the ticket office still have tickets for that day it will only cost 16 Euro, on the internet is 20. Same for Uffizi, I paid 26 + 4 while some people might get it for 19 Euro on special day or special time or so. The walking tour guide Gabriella told me, of course I didn’t pay attention about the how, since I received this info late, been there anyway. To my personal view, David is a must visit while Uffizi hmmm unless you really understand Renaissance, interested in paintings, prepared to walked for over 4 hours then you can go too, if not, feel free to skip it 😉

Yeah, Its Not Happening Bro

My hair is a like a double edge swords, blessing and a curse, too thick, too straight plus too many. Sure Sissy would agrees…

Last week, Andrea sleptover in my place, she brought her Dyson! People! it’s DYSON! The Dyson Curling Dingsbums #Starstruck! I gotta put my hands on it yo, must use this super expensive curly hair style thingy.

My first encounter with THE Dyson was in Shanghai when I borrowed Dennis’ small / sofa vacuum cleaner. He was a bit worried because I took the Metro. He said “hmmm be careful” “of course I won’t let anyone touch this…. what… 500 RMB…” before I finish my sentence he cut it with “3000” reflects I responded “Oh! I will guard it all the time, don’t you worry about it, will return it in one piece”

Second encounter when I visited Helene in Belgium for our Harry Potter Ausstellung, she has a hair dryer! Originally didn’t have any intention to wash my hair but since it’s Dyson! Gotta do it!

Third encounter was just now when Andrea bei mir übernachtet. I’m almost reach my Schnapszahl yet only had 3 chances with the holly top tier Dyson! Not gonna waste any opportunites!

Andrea curled her whole hair in 30 seconds, when I did mine, she realized…. hmmm, I think your hair is too heavy, need to take bit by bit. Tried again, it does work! However… took me about 25 minutes haha

It still not complete btw, I somehow don’t have the ability to curl my right side pffff. Reached the points where all the curls are pleasant enough for the eyes then head to NW Sommerfest only for it to not last haha #Hopeless.

Yeah…. curling my hair with a curly iron stick stuff even the most expensive brand….. it’s not happening bro!

Slim Not Fit

Baggage delayed-checked, baggage broken-checked ~ Delsey oh Delsey, your journey has come to an end 🙁 Thank you for being with me, being lent to Andreas while he had a business trip to India, I have never been there but at least you had. I can proudly said you have lived your life 🙂

This is how my luggage looks like when it landed Düsseldorf. After being here for more than 3,5 years, I’ve learnt what the Germans are good about ~ complaining. As a believer of ‘masuk kandang kambing mengembek, masuk kandang kerbau menguak’ I became one of them, report the damage to Airport Claim Staff.

Done with registering, I was given a paper to submit my complaint within one week, don’t worry, I did it right away. Team Dolfi1920 took over my luggage swiftly, although I only get compensation of 72 Euro due to they count % of yearly depreciation #Mathematic, it is still better than nothing right?

I found a foldable luggage with the same size (length x width x height) as my Delsey one, hmmm interesting, I always wants to try this type of luggage, let’s have it! Little did I knew, the size written in the Dolfi1920 is already counted the wheel which means when it arrives ~ 2 weeks later ~ it is smaller than mine. I was so happy to get such a slim luggage only to know it’s not fit.

As I need to remind myself I’m not in China, delivery from Germany won’t be happening within 24 hours + we have national holidays in May + they don’t deliver after 18:00, I had to think about another alternative. How about if I bought a luggage-cover? with the hope it will last until it reach Bali where my mom will give me a new one #That’s the plan.

Hold on Delsey, I believe you, let’s do one more flight! 🙂

#We are ready!

Not the New Kid on the Block

  • Mamaaaaaaa, oooohhhh. I don’t want to die, sometime I wish I’d never been born at all…. Carry on, carry on…
  • Love of my life, you’ve hurt me… you’ve broken my heart and now you leave me… love of my life, can’t you see? bring it back, bring it back…
  • All we hear is radio gaga, radio goo goo, radio ga ga… Radio what’s new? Someone still loves you

I am talking about none others, the legend Freddie Mercury! We got an optional tour to go to Montreux, hell yeah hello Queen Mercury!

There were another group before us, consequently, it took some time until the statue was empty. Once it does, we didn’t waste a bit 🙂 Group photoooo, in order to do a selfie, Joe need to come forward put his arm on the lake area, as you can see I was very ‘merinding disko’.

Still in the memory of the legend, went to the Queen-Studio Experience.

Look at how serene Montrex is, no wonder Freddie spent some time here to recharge from his busy life, it is 有山有水.

Then we visited Bern to beautiful Aare River again, the very unfortunate event side for all Indonesian citizen. In this side is the late son of Bandung’s governor got swept out by the current #Rest in Peace

As usual, city center area, however we didn’t visit any churches, rather Swiss bank #Fulus 😉 We tried the allegedly famous chocolate shop, some says its the best blablabla for me its just normal.

Guess what? we went to Germany too! what an experience of passing the custom via bus. Jo tell a very weird legend about Titisee, a kid being transported by Burung Bangao ~ like in Dumbo movie. Out of nowhere, came water to which it became a lake. I heard it like Hä? what kind of a story were you telling me???

We went to Schwarzwald not for hiking, sort of to buy a Kuckucksuhr. We were explained about the history, how to make it by an Indonesian seller. Right after the explanation, mother wants to have not only the Kuckucksuhr, but also the Magnet for her collection. Pass auf, she took out the magnet from the display and walked through the Kasse, only for a lady on a mask to snap it out of her, unpolite saying in English “You need to talk to my colleague about it” walk away, put the magnet back to the display.

I was behind my mother ofc I can understand her but there was no time to react. I can read the room, she will take the new one from the storage. After some time, she didn’t come back, I asked the other guy to get the magnet for us. He came back quicker than her. All 3 of us were in the Cashier. Like the way she appears was out of the blue, so does the way she reapperas, spoke to him in Chinese asking “Oh you already take it for her? then I don’t need to take it”

Leute, it was my time to shine, I was for sure having metamorphosis process, articulate my loud and clear opinion in Chinese “you didn’t tell you will get us that, besides we wait for you for a long time, you should have inform me at least and not just go away without telling anything” to her defense “but I did tell” I cut her sentence “No you didn’t, you only told my mother ‘she should have speak to your colleague’, none about whether you will grab it for us” Oh Lady, you think I am the new kid on the block who’s afraid to talk back? watch out, I was 7 years in your homeland! #Feel proud of myself.

Right after mother got what she wants, we went to eat. A piece of black forest cake is a must! as this is her favorite cakes. Same thing, according to her it’s very good, to me it’s only mehhh… She even had another one to take it away.

I genuinely quiet confused when I got it because the black forest cake is not….black?….hmmm…

As if all previous 水 not enough, here is the final 水 ~ Schaffhausen. Back to Switzerlandia.

Swarovski in a Non-existing Rose Garden – Part 2

….continuation story…..

Feli feel tired, therefore she chose to stay put, doing some Cafeing whereas I was heading towards Adolphe Bridge, only to meet with another walking tour participants (at this point I didn’t know their names) the same girls we met at the entrance of Bock Casemates. They wanted to see the Rose Garden, I already forget this option exists! I asked if I can join, they don’t mind, so here I am, one party changes to three party. Maria said: Netherlands is famous for the Tulip, Luxembourg is famous for the Rose. She also mentioned perhaps there won’t be any at this time as this is not the season. However, it didn’t reduce our spirit to check. The result was: there were no rose hahaha but one of the girl found something else 🙂

What’s next then? I’m not sure if I’m allow to follow them again as I kind of crashing their party of two hihihi I asked and they don’t mind so here we are in The Gudde Wedder. Spoiler alert, this is where the night getting excited! we grow to an even bigger + exponentially funny party. At this time I already know their names, Franzi and Sabine. Franzi is a German live in Luxembourg, Sabine is a Mauritians on the way to USA. Franzi asked “where is your friend? she can come here too other than waiting alone” OK, send picture + location + write Feli. Done from my side.

This place is always full, there is no waiter who will search a seat for you. You just have to run once a table is free, pretty Barbaric I’d say. The plan was we sat anywhere first, if we see one of the table at the side is free then moved. Our seat was the middle, next to us were 4 guys. I thought all of them are together until I realized they too separated into 2 and 2. Franzi whispered to me “they are Germans”

Mistakes happened by one of the guy’s order that caused a conversation which lead to the best unexpected night of my life. 2 Moscow Mule for free! My brain and heart already locked to Pisco Sour therefore Sabine and Franzi took it but I also had few sips #slurp 🙂

They talked, I zoned out from time to time until I saw the perfect corner table is empty! I don’t care what were their conversation is all about, it was worth to break it. Guys! Empty table on the corner, run! get it! the guys talked “should we move?” “yes yes moved!” both girls said thanks for the drink to the other guys, I didn’t even see them. Focus focus, tadammm!!! party of 3 becomes party of 5!

We have one more empty seat that could be a hot seat between Feli or Franzi’s housemate. Knowing the party will be bigger, one of the guy (at that time I didn’t know their names yet) said we wont be asking chairs from another table anymore rather asking for a table. Funnily, both of them arrived at the same time, I asked Feli to “run, run” but she ignored me, she was the last one to get the seat 🙂 How many are we now? party of 5 become party of 7! After we complete, now I know all the names, they are Lukas, Tobias, Sabine, Feli, Ivy, Franzi and moi!

We will treat this corner as generational, ain’t gonna move our asses. If someone needs to go to the toilet, we will guard the sits with all our hearts. Don’t be a beginner like the French guys sitting next to us pfffff. Okay, French guy asked in French if we have a paper for smoking, none of us understand so he spoke in English, we all “no, sorry we don’t smoke, we don’t have it”. The three of them try to asked the restaurant I think, they didn’t realized….they have left their table!!! In three seconds, two ladies already grabbed their spot. Me and Franzi was looking at the girl giving thumbs up or trying to say “I don’t think the guys meant to left the table” the moment the guys realized, it’s too late. Lukas said “it’s because he didn’t put the towel in the chair as a mark, the German towel really is sacred”

Lukas, Tobias and me still have a bit of drinks, meanwhile Sabine, Ivy and Franzi are ready to move on for Open Air Cinema. Lukas gave Ivy his “Towel” (read: jacket) to spot the chairs for Open Air Cinema. Once we are done, we walked to Place Guillaume II, “you guys continue, I forgot my bag” ahhh Tobias… we didn’t realized he walked without his bag #face palm Lukas said “I need to take care of my bag because many people (myself including) said I have a nice bag”

I was the one who made itinerary for the trip so I know we are passing the Corniche aka the “most beautiful balcony of Europe” When I told the guys their response was “OK, checked” me on the other hand getting a selfie “Have you see yourselves on the camera?” Lukas answered “I am right there!” We arrived at the Open Air Cinema, the movie is Singing in The Rain with French and German Subtitle. The German Towel doesn’t serve the purpose of 7 seats, we have to scatter around. I was sitting with Lukas, Feli with Tobias, Sabine with Franzi, Ivy prefer to stand.

Once the movie is finished, Franzi and Ivy already gone but we got additional member which is Tobias’ housemate, Pedro. We kept strolling around until we reached one pub only to use the toilet haha noooo we stay just a bit due to our AirBnB is quiet far, we need to catch the last bus. On the dance floor we received a good news that Lukas was accepted into a University in Mannheim, whoaaaa! Congratulations!!!!

The level of Dopamine from that whole day was very indescribable, one of the night you don’t want to end, not in my wildest dream I would expect any of it. It is like finding a hidden gems or Swarovski in the most unexpected place like a non-existing rose garden.

Hey! I’m serious, Franzi found it and she gave it to me 🙂

Made in Germany, found by a German!

I will remember all of you, Ivy who study her PhD, Franzi who work in EU Parliament, Sabine who always manage to get into private swimming pool at any Hotel in Mauritius, Tobias who studies Data Science if only I can turn back time, I’ll tell myself to study that too, Lukas whose backpack was stolen 🙁

Sorry to deliver a sad news… I know the next day that Lukas’ great backpack has been stolen. I was very shocked when I heard it, damn! how about bank card + Personalausweis + keys etc. When we met the guys, I even more shocked because he can turn the negative into something humorous, that is the skill not everyone have. Lukas himself turn it into a joke that leads to running gag for the whole day, such as “they dropped my AirPods and I have the box back home, so now it’s complete; well, now I can’t pay anything; I need to chill, good thing is I can’t get lower than this, they took everything from me; I wear the same clothes because they took all my belongings”. Ah yes forget to mentioned Lukas literally just arrived Luxembourg when I met him so his backpack is all his stuff for the weekend. Anyway, my personal opinion, with this kind of mentality, he will be able to go very far in life.

Moral of Lukas’ incident, follow the quote from How I Met Your Mother, “when it’s 2 A.M., just go to sleep. Because nothing good happens after 2 A.M” I told him I believe in Karma, something stolen from you, it will be stolen from the thief in another way too, for example something bad happen to their family that would cause damage more than your iPad etc. He said my words are too dark he didn’t intend any bad things to the Täter, oh yes bitch I am Indonesian, we have Voodoo Master hahaha don’t mess up with my things or else……#devil’s laugh

Back to the good side of me, you guys have made my weekend unforgettable. I owe you a big thank you, I wish you all success in life. See you when I see you #you’ll never know 😉

The Difference Concept of Time – Part 2

I have a Gutscheinbuch, Schlemmer block version, inside this small booklet there are variety of restaurant deals, BOGO (buy one get one free), family deal etc. To my surprise, they also put some kind of activities deal, such as bouldering, sauna etc, one of them is Legoland BOGO Ticket. Who wants to join me? Since the people who lives in Stuttgart like Binbin, Bea and Nora wasn’t available then it goes to Radite aka QQ Dite. He’s not living in Stuttgart but he doesn’t have a class so he can join me!

It took me 2 hours 45 minutes to go with RE Bahn plus Shuttle bus, one more hour for him. Distance doesn’t matter, I’m already in south of Germany, let’s do it!

It’s not DB Bahn if delay didn’t occur. The journey that supposedly took less than 3 hours became somewhere like 4 hours, denk bitte daran, it’s one more hour for him. We arrived at almost 11:30! The attractions will closed at 17:00, Legoland itself closed at 18:00.

Once we entered the park, we were welcomed with a Miniland version of everything, Berlin, Frankfurt, ICE Train etc. Imo its way better than the Atomium in Brussels or Madurodam in Netherlands. The only difference is in Madurodam you are allow to step in, therefore you’ll appear like a Giant next to the building. Here, only the workers are allowed.

What impressed me were the kids being kids, it’s really their place heyy, Radite wants to press the button so the bicycle go to the other directions. Once the kids know about it, they just surrounded him, really no boundaries yo! it looks like he was the bully who didn’t let smaller kids press the button haha

There are many interesting figures such as Einstein or giraffe hahaha! to put Einstein and giraffe in one sentence! #face palm. No, I meant like a football players 🙂

We both tried the first roller coaster next to where we are called The Great Lego Race, looks manageable, WRONG! Optic illusion is real, once we were up there, it is quiet something. Tried to find a reason why such a small roller coaster were able to shocked us, hhmmm… perhaps…we haven’t been in a roller coaster recently, consequently we need some time to adjust our mental on where we actually are in this very moment.

Warm up is done, wanted to watch The Ninjago. Since the 4D shows are not yet started, we tried another ride its kind of a Jetski that attached to the pole so we can’t go anywhere besides turning the wheel left and right, named Wave Racers. It doesn’t looks so fun, believe me, it is! The 4D shows is OK, not different than any other amusement park’s 4D. Looked on the map of what we’ll do next, read about an attraction called Ninjago…hmmm… Radite said “the 4D we watched coincidently also called Ninjago however we are not in the Ninjago area” aahhh ok, problemchen solved.

Next, we visited Legoland Atlantis by Sea Life, they put Lego inside the fish tank together with all the fishes! Ofc a hungry Marlyn eating chips 😉 Radite brought Chitato from Indonesia! AAAAA

There was a Magic show by Tobias Campoverde, he’s obviously funny for kids and a really great showman for adult, able to loosen us up. QQ wants to ride the Niagara Falls, I said “there is no one in the line, lets go, lets go, hurry” yeah there wasn’t anyone because the ride was closed pffffff I wasn’t plan to be wet yet I have to say their Niagara Falls looks so pretty.

Their new ride, Lego Mythica! We ride Maximus-The Guardian’s Flight. This point we realized we have about 1 hour 40 minutes before all the rides closed, ok! planning planning planning! I was too busy mapping out our next ride while we were on the line, caused me to not watch how this Fire and Ice Tower moved, I wasn’t prepare for it. In this less safety equipment I got really scared haha Radite was confused as the previous one were scarier along with we were on the 1st row yet I didn’t scream so much like this one.

Right next to Mythiga is Egypt, Pharaohs’ Land. We flew with the balloon Desert X-cursion, unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take a video. From up there we can see a “ride”, it’s a firefighter car which put out the fire, called Pyramide Rallye. The one who wins will got one brick of Lego haha. I said to Radite, “Q, let’s do it seriously, we can’t be the damn last”. Next to us was a family with small child, on the other side was fully adult. 3, 2, 1 we were pumping like crazy, I think my hand almost fell off. Radite really really done his best, we were on the second position, only 1,5 seconds behind the family guy. Good job!

Took a rest after the crazy unplanned gym by taking an observation tower where our job were just sitting. Muskelkater guaranteed!

Last area is Knight Kingdom, a roller coaster called Fire Dragon. There were 2 rides on this Knight Kingdom, we need to make sure we didn’t go to the children ones. This is the only ride which we waited more than 45 minutes while the others are always within 30 minutes.

I thought that were our last ride, nope! we still have little time, ran to Flying Ninjago. If I move the wings hard enough I can turn 360 degree, one guy did it, I can’t, well… have to be honest I was a bit scared too. I don’t want to keep turning around uncontrollably.

Then…. all attractions are closed. I really think we achieved quiet a lot! Had DB Bahn didn’t delay, we could tried all the roller coasters. We wanted to go originally on a Saturday as there is a parade but the weather was forecasted to be raining so we changed it to Thursday. I’m glad though! Imagine if on Saturday, it will be more full + DB Bahn delay = we will never be able to take any ride.

There are many rides for kids too, obviously we are not qualified to ride it

The Lego is really all arounds, duh! that’s why it got the name Legoland. They have interesting shape and figures 🙂

My favorite Lego figure was the “Paparazzi paparazzi paparazzi no no no!”

We really need to come back to find him 🙂

All pictures are from Radite, he also made a short clip with main star, ME! 🙂

What do I need to do?

just walk #Lalyn Gaga

Legoland is double TOP!

Thank you QQ for accompanying me against all Umsteigen and Delay 🙂

Vitamin D – Part 2

I need to start with the fact that I’m not really a Museum type of girl. I only go there when the weather is bad, however exceptions applies #wink there are 2 famous Museums in Stuttgart. Are they a Castle Museum thingy? No! Instead…. Porsche and Mercedes Benz Museum! AAAAA

Let’s gooooo!

Took the SBahn to the Porsche Museum. On the intersection before entering the Museum, I saw one car that was so geheim, it was all covered, could be a brand new car from Porsche! Yo! I “witness” something!

The lady on the ticket counter asked if I’m a student, thank you Lady! Unfortunately no, then she asked if I come with DE Ticket, yes! so I got a Rabatt, who doesn’t like discounts?!?! 5 Euro entrance fee it was 🙂 She gave me an audio guide, let’s explore the world of Porsche!

They started directly by putting a racing cars, yes you can see some tractor style or just an expensive cars on the side but mainly its all about racing. It is really cool to see all of type of cars laying there to please your eyes 🙂 Funny things is I took a picture of a Porsche car who doesn’t have a door handle from the outside, find it?

They also have the let’s call it “ancient” car of Porsche, I have to admit, it has some style!

On the center floor, we could have a bit of Porsche Experience. They put a playing car like you have in Game Master Daytona, I played it for 3 laps to confirm what I already knew, I need to re-learn my driving ability. They displayed 3 Porsche cars, you can sit inside it. In my view, they are quiet low… followed by throwing a complaint to a car that I would never afford to have in this life haha Girl you got a discounted entrance ticket!

Oh what’s that?!?! One Disney Car caught my attention, from all the sports car available, I’m sold to a Disney Car! I thought it was the Susi-Car, a cartoon movie back then when me and my sister still small, we cried watching it. A story about broken car named Susi who looks exactly like this blue Porsche car. Susi was a Taxi Car yet no one wants to be on it as many of her parts were broken, therefore she needs a reparation. In the end, Susi had no other option other than go to the Werkstatt. But once she’s out, she’s new again! me and my sister were happy!

Getting closer to the plate, oh, it wasn’t a Susi-Car, it’s Sally Carrera from the movie Cars pfffff to be honest, I only remembered the color was blue haha!

I spend a good 3 hours inside the Museum.

Moving on to number 1 list to do when visiting Stuttgart, it’s the Mercedes Benz Museum. Oh! I read on the back of my Porsche Ticket that if I show it they will give me a Rabatt to enter Mercedes Benz, yuhuuu!! Money Wins! 9 Euro entrance ticket after the discount.

This is huge! like huge huge huge! the elevator took you to the 7th floor then you just go down in a loop like number 8. Amazing! My colleague, PV told me there are only 3 Mercedes car ever produced and one of them is in the Museum. This was my target, need to find it!

Back to the 7th floor, they showed us the history from only “the grandfather clock” machine

As I said each floor of Mercedes Benz Museum was design like a number 8, main car show in the middle, then pictures about what’s happening in the whole world on the one side of loop number 8, then “exhibitions” of some cars on the other side. This “exhibitions” could be a car for fire fighter, bus, football team, Pope. Ich bin echt überfordert!

I am already tired before I found the expensive car! I expect if one car is really only 3 exist in this world, it should be glass doored or at least with a security. I’m very surprise that wasn’t the case! Ladies and Gentleman, here is the most expensive car, the car that only sick people could afford. The 135 Million Euros’ car!

Imo, this car is geiler! Doesn’t mean it cost less money, nevertheless see the interior, color and design! TOP!

I felt satisfied to find the 135 Millions Euro car but not my stomach, I was hungry! Need to fast forward my walking speed! until I stumbled into….. okay I went there on the King Charles Coronation day. What did I see? a Mercedes that Princess Diana was once on it! ironic ehhh..

Reach 1st floor about the innovation of today with electric car and so on. For some reason it wasn’t so interessting, bring back the race car!

yes they did! Racing history 🙂

I spend a good 4,5 hours there, had I’ve been allowed to have some snacks while walking around inside the museum for sure I could reach 6 hours easily. At some point I was just tired and hungry, need to go out to eat or else I could faint!

Although I’m not a car-junkie I really think both are worth visiting for, only a recommendation, for Mercedes I really do think better go there after enjoying a big meal 😉

Verbal Illusion

  • She’s On The Money book for Irina – checked and checked 1000 times or else she would reject my arrival! #I have no doubt #It’s foreseeable
  • Food during my at least 4,5 hours DB Journey to Amsterdam – checked. Why at least? Because DB Bahn ist genau bekannt für die Pünktlichkeit.

Was my train delayed? certainly! there was some Chemical thingy happening in Venlo (btw Venlo is already Amsterdam) while I had to take another train from Venlo to Amsterdam. A glimpse of hope appears when ICE train on the next platform also stopped there. That ICE bound for Amsterdam from Frankfurt, perfekt! Hop on to that train thinking they could have taken another track, hoping I could have arrived earlier #innocence

That exact ICE has no clue when it will continue the journey, had to wait inside for about 1,5 hours before everyone started to panic. The guy sitting next to me called a Taxi from Amsterdam asked if they will be able to pick him up in the train station. There was a couple, she is a German while he….somewhere from EU, Spain or Italy or so, she was very active in searching a way out. She thought to take Uber to Roermond as it’s a bigger station then took any train to Amsterdam. I, on the other hand, stand by…. well, honestly not really stand by, I was more eavesdropping 😉 30 minutes later, the girl said according to Twitter, the firefighter already cleaned Venlo’s track hence all trains are able to departs again. Yeay!! Without further due, the machinist only blew the whistle once dann los geht’s! #no warning #no waiting time

I was so hungry when I finally reached Amsterdam Central. Irina was still working anyway, I got to eat yo! Indonesian food it is! What else other than Warung Made 🙂 back to Sarah!

I really felt like home in this Warung, chilled for a long while until the rain is somewhat bearable to continue my journey. Truth: it’s never bearable, welcome to Amsterdam 🙂

She got cat sitting job right after her normal job therefore I had to be at home alone, decided to take shower, put all my equipment at her bathroom. I brought my own shampoo, conditioner, face wash, basically everything except soap. I saw her soap was put upside down, lift it, felt empty…hmmm… doesn’t matter, shampoo works perfectly fine as a soap too.

Finished, made myself comfy at her armchair with Fatty, wrote her via WA “btw you soap is dead” she asked if I finished it up. No, it’s already dead that’s why I had to use my shampoo.

Long story short, it was only an illusion, there was still some left had I tried open it. Not forget to mentioned, Irina is the type who always have a back up after another back up, there is still a hidden soap behind the closed cabinet. I took shower with a soap for the rest of me staying at her place 😉 #just so everyone conscious.

Perhaps Salem had to do revenge during my soap drama, he throwed up while I was sleeping, not literally on me, rather on the blanket. It was around 3AM, for some reason I felt Salem on my thigh (100% it was him, if it was Fatty I would got up as he is very very heavy) then I heard some choking noise. I’m not a light sleeper, I was only half aware by the time I knew some food already out of his mouth. “Irina, Irina” she woke up immediately and told me, you take the other side of the bed, I directly went asleep again zzzzz

On the weekend, we were fully book with brunch! Saturday we met with her friend, Diana at brunch Cocotei. Our agenda is to go to Amsterdam Dungeon even though I’m not a fan of horror. I went to the one in London when I was 16 or 17 yo boy oh boy! it was amazing! I still remember it so well, that scared the shit out of me, except now I’m older I wanted to see if that shit still scares me or not, thus I agreed on it.

We arrived earlier than our admission ticket, we were waiting in the supposedly creepy room. The waiting is the one that kills Diana and I. Long story short, we went in with 20 other people, it wasn’t so scary, the act were more screaming in a way that supposedly shocked us, sometimes they succeed, most of the time they weren’t. Hate to say, it wasn’t really successful #imo I think the one in London was much better, less communication.

Diana need to go but our next bitch come, Terezaaaa! with her, what did we do? cake-ing! #sweet tooth gang! Live from Amsterdam.

I bought 2 cakes to go, guys, I have no idea what went wrong in the whole conversation:

  • “I want to have 2 cupcakes please, 1 red velvet, 1 carrot cake”
  • somehow she took out a big box with 4 holes on it, she put 2 red velvet in the hole…..
  • caught her in that action, I said “No, I meant 1 and 1”
  • Her action after it was even weirder, she took 1 box for 1 cupcake so it will be 2 boxes.
  • before it went too far, I need to say another “No, No”
  • out of the blue, she put 2 red velvet in one box and 1 carrot cake in one box to me.
  • I clearly have no idea where her logic coming from, what kind of illusion it is. I…. had to say…. again….”I meant, 1 red velvet and 1 carrot cake in one box”
  • she changed the box unhappily.

Girl…seriously… you coming from another planet? Tereza and Irina waited in H&M next door. I told them the story, they said “don’t worry Marlyn, it’s a Dutch service”

Although we were not too hungry, we went to Warung Made again hahaha! I want to introduce them the new Indonesian restaurant I discovered 😉 I know Sara would be there however when I get in there was a white blonde lady….oh! Where is Sara? haha very polite ehhh!

Irina went for cat sitting right after dinner while I went to her place to feed Salem and Fatty, they must be sooooo hungry! They lead me to the kitchen as I opened the door. Yes Salem I know! We’re sorry, Fatty you’re always hungry anyway 😉

On an Easter Sunday we decided to go to Utrecht. In my opinion it’s a mini Amsterdam. Sadly it wasn’t so alive due to it was on an Easter Sunday. We still can see something, it was enough for the grasp that Utrecht is beautiful.

Our destination is to reach the famous Gelato ice cream, did we take a straight way? No way in hell #got distracted. One of them is by getting in to Kelly Expat Store #We are an expat yo! It sounds fancy but basically it’s a shop selling American food brands hahaha. What other shops that opened on the holiday? Souvenirs shop! Magnet for mother – checked.

Reached the famous Gelato Roberto, I had a Broodjes with 2 scoop of Ice Cream. The place is small, there isn’t a proper place to sit outside of this shop, there was only a “bank” (auf Deutsch) attached to the wall so we sat there having a view of other people waiting in line to get the ice cream. Fuck no I ain’t leaving the bank, my ass need some rest haha

Utrecht is the origin of Miffy, there are many of this statue around city center. In one specific red lights they have Miffy as their icon. Just like Ampelmann in Berlin, here is Miffy in Utrecht.

On the way back the train didn’t stop at Tereza’s station so she need to get out from another station. Yeay! more time with you!

On my last day, we finished Jeffrey Epstein Series. There were still some time before my train, clueless what to do? While I tried to re-heat the bagel, Irina screamed with joy “Marlyn, Netflix understand us! there is a movie about Ghislaine Maxwell ! let’s watch it!”

Wait, back to the bagel story. I was informed there is a bagel in the kitchen, I can cut it half, put on the air fryer facing up then spread the Frischkase. I’m so lost in life, I spread the Frischkase first so I can’t put it again into the air fryer otherwise I’ll messed it up more than I already am….pfffff what can I do without her.

Once the movie ended, my gut told me to go to the train station. It was too early, more than 2 hours from my real ticket. When I just arrived the Dam, I got notification that my middle train, the one that is from Venlo to Germany got cancelled hahaha! Am I surprise? honestly no however it didn’t meant that I’m calm. I’m still panic #not at the disco. Since I was there earlier I just took whatever train available, most important it will take me to Dortmund. I reached home one hour later than I suppose to be, bottom line, made it!

Although it’s not a Lake Como holiday like our bitches Anu and Louise, I still had my fun! Looking forward pho next time bitcheeessss!

Marching On

What type of sightseeing I did in Milan?! One thing I know for sure, I was marching like a soldier during this trip, over 20K steps each day, if only my hips can speak, I’m sure she will try to leave my body haha

As much as I want to believe age is just a number…. its effing true!

The Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci. I am glad I got the ticket eventhough not from their official website, why you’d ask? because it’s already sold out for another 2 months! I paid 49 Euro for the tour. The tour is 45 minutes but we only get 15 minutes inside the Last Supper painting, it’s the same from the official website we can only do 15 minutes too. It’s expensive heyyy although I’m not big fans of any art still I muss visit it. At the end of the day comes the question, is it worthy? honestly speaking, not for 49 Euro. The silver lining however, I saw one of the world most magnificent painting!

Following day, walking tour from guru walk started at 10 AM. The duration was almost 3 hours. Starts at a Duomo’s ticket office building, looking at the Alfa Romeo symbol haha it is not Alfa Romeo symbol, it is a Milanese symbol that Alfa Romeo integrate as their car’s logo 🙂 ends up in Piazza degli Affari where they put a statue of middle finger in front of a stock exchange building.

Andrea and I had a pasta lunch, duh! what else can we eat in Italy other than a good pasta #nom nom, in Miscusi. We can build up our own pasta or trust their creation, I chose the second 🙂

We were intrigued by our walking tour guide called V about the explanation of one building next to St. Stefano church, by reason of this is the place where they put real skulls #spooky we definitely check that place, before we arrived, we stopped by a very interesting jewelry store called Cosiii @cosiii_milano or @cosiii_official the owner is so nice, they had a very cute packaging which put me in shame since I only bought 5 Euro earrings, I think the packaging itself cost more as 5 Euro, to my luck, Andrea bought something worth more, conclusion was we didn’t left that store in shame haha had a tea snack then reach our St. Stefano church destination.

Next we visited Castello Sforzesco, Andrea chose to sit while I marched to the other end to see Arco della Pace.

Had dinner at Risoelatte, had Milanese style of Risotto, the owner gave me 1 Euro discount, he doesn’t have the 4 Euro change so he just gave me 5 Euro bill, yeay! Both restaurants we ate that day was good!

On last day with Andrea, I woke up soooooo late, we don’t have any agenda other than shopping at Zara! Their Zara is different from Germanys bzw. Dortmunds haha Before we separated, we had lunch at Pasta D’Autore.

After Andrea gone to the airport, it is still noon time….I took a tram to visit Brera, this place has a beautiful architecture, color, definitely a to go place for art lovers.

Then closing the evening with Navigli. People, please buy the magnets or any souvenirs you want from Navigli, it is the cheapest one! 3 magnets for 5 Euro instead of the stands at Piazza Mercanti.

The food, the weather, the Limoncello, the statue, the building, the city <3

Forza Italia!
