Search No More January

Finally I *almost* got what I’ve always want! and that is…. I want to stay alone a.k.a no roommate 🙂 its not that I don’t like people but I just want to know how does it feel to finally live alone?! Ever since I moved to Shanghai in year 2013 doesn’t matter if I live in or off-campus, I always have roommie, so now please for year 2020 I need to live by myself 🙂

But the room searching wasn’t that easy, at first I stick to my idea that I want to stay in Loft style where the bed is on top while living room or dining room and bathroom on the first floor, but usually this loft style always on the old lane house where it’s dark and rather scary mwhaha, so I also look for one bedroom apartment kind of thing. I think it took me like almost 10 days or so to keep looking for one, after work or over the weekend. The searching process itself was so dramatic because January is mostly raining and cold and looking for home…

There was one time when I got mixed between Jiangsu and Jiangning, I thought they all the same and the house agent was waiting for me at Jiangning road while I was on Jiangsu road and I realized it late so I came to the house very very late, it was again gloomy day and rain poured quiet heavily and I was hungry! I cannot continue my journey without refuel myself, and I remember our German friend-Andy lives nearby, in fact really really nearby from the home that I visited. Without further due, I called him! with an opening sentence “Hi Andy, are you at home?” He was a bit hesitant to reply but he said “Yes” followed by my direct question, “do you have food there? I’m hungry and I’m around your area” He said “hmmm not really but I have Muesli, apple….” I just cut him “Okay that’s enough, I will tell you what happen but I can’t continue without eating, can I come by?” hahaha! Yes people, I invited myself to other people’s home #facepalm! I asked him to text me his complete address and within few minutes I arrived 🙂

I arrived his place heavily hungry, I really need to stop by to eat something otherwise I cannot carry on to my own place and he was the one and only that could fed me! Yeay! I had Muesli, rice cake, blueberries, German bread-stollen 😉 whoaa thank you Andy! and the stollen is really new and imported from Germany as he just went to Germany on Christmas haha!

I think few days after Andy saved me from starve to death in the middle of the road under the rain, I found my new apartment! They called it “service apartment” but I called it “fancy dormitory” 😉 I really like the design of my room as it’s super new but the kitchen and living room are common area, I don’t cook anyway so it’s OK haha

And what do I need to do after I found one? I need to repack my stuff! Ugghh this is pain!! I kept trying to reducing my stuff, clothes, bags, shoes, etc but somehow I feel they’re never reduced pffff. I stuffed all my luggages and bags to the max then I realized it was too heavy to carry and I need help! Thorben was the one that helped me to moved to that apartment but he’s still in Germany so I need another squad! Alice offered the help, yeay! Alice the helper! but in my new place it will be on 2nd floor without elevator and my stuff really really heavy, so I asked Nicolas to join the moving squad! hahaha

They both came very on-time, even I was still on my PJ when they arrived haha! I gave a very clear explanation and draw a map with thrash can as a benchmark #facepalm

Stay here no more 😉

So how does my new room looks like? Here it is!!!

Ofc this is when none of my stuff there, when I arranged and put my stuff, it looks…. fuller haha merrier! not messier 😉

Although it’s not a Loft style that I want but I’m happy enough 😉 I’m also glad that the searching for apartments process is over!
